Well worth doing (sorry not meaning to rub salt in the wound), the car is an absolute animal now - but still disguises speed as well as ever!! - Full rpeort to follow after the weekend, as Im going to Birmingham and back - so a good opportunity to test

Simon is mobile so will always drive to where ever you are

I believe Simon does do the remaps for CAA,although I'm not certain.
Why don't you send them a message Carlos,I'm sure Simon will respond:

I would also be wary of ChippedUK as there seems to be a lot of bad press going around on other forums a while back. There was a lot of arguing/bitching going on over at BMWLand if I remember correctly.

It was indeed Simon from Emaps, and I can confrim unnofficially that he does the CAA re-maps.

Nothing wrong with ChippedUK, as SiBurt has it on his 335D, and I drove it back to back with mine yesterday, and there is nothing in it.

Oh and its £350

On the road the cars performance is just amazing, I can believe that 60 comes up in 5 secs or so, but its the mid range acceleration that is breathtaking, from 70-100, the speedo moves more like a rev counter (if that makes sense). I had an Imprezza turbo hanging off my bumper yesterday, at about 60mph, and when the car in front of me moved off I floored it in 3rd, and just left him for dead.

On my journey back from Solihull today, averaging between 60 and 95mph, the MPG was 35!!!, and I have a very heavy right foot.

To have all this power, handling, practicality and fuel efficiency is just stunning - This car is ,by far the most capable car I have owned (and Ive had a few, running a garage and that), and I think I shall be keeping it for some time - well a couple of years at least, I just cant see what could do what it does so well in all departments. The improvement that the map makes over standard is nothing short of amazing, and coupled with the suspension, has made this car for me

Well done BMW, H & R, E-maps, and Alpina - A great mix

After it is valeted this week I will get some pics up of it, with the new suspension, I think it looks awesome

Thanks for the mini write up Oli.
Your summary comes as no surprise though, and I would have written exactly what you described in regards to my E46 which was mapped by DMS.It was not so much the 0-60 that was impressive it was the sheer mid-range power that was so gobsmackingly awesome!

I was going to wait until I had a few thousand miles on the clock before going down your route, but what the heck,in for a penny in for a pound.Another couple of hundred won't hurt,my wallet has had a zero balance since picking mine up anyway!

Carlos, start counting the buttons in your Nat West Piggy bank, subject to a e-mail from Simon, its getting booked, probably tomorrow.
PM me your credit card details & I'll book us both in

Any of you guys know what gains would be made to my 325i from a re-map. I know it is non-turbo and non-diesel so not sure if it will be money well spent?

Anyone had this done to the more lowly engined model

Minimal. It only provides significant benefits on turbo cars. Diesel or petrol.

Jason,Ill let you know, but I'm probably going to visit Fandango Towers and get mine done with the Stig (sorry Carlos). So I'm expecting it to be slightly cheaper (one hopes) with 2 cars.
You're more then welcome to come along though, you can chat to Carlos' mum,I'll discuss procreation with Carlos' girlfriend, and Carlos can bore the arse off Simon talking about changing the oil.

Does that sound ok Carlos?
