Question American in the UK

Hello,

I am one of those pesky american soldiers stationed in the UK, suffolk area to be more specific. If you dont know where that is, its because its in the middle of nowhere.
I am buying a 2008 BMW 335i coupe here in the UK through a military sales program for about $37000 (or 18500 pounds, good deal I know) before options added and before tax (VAT) oh wait, I dont have to pay tax (VAT) .
They only give me american options I asked if I could get a copy of the UK options but they are unable to provide them. I know already that here in the UK I can get matte black or gloss black trim instead of chrome as well as the option to get piano black interior trim. I have decided to get the piano black interior trim to complement the black interior I havnt decided on matte black vs gloss black for the exterior . The overall color I chose for the exterior is Titanium Silver so I'm leaning towards matte black trim, however I think gloss black could look nice as well and may complement the piano black interior trim more better. What do you think? any pics you could provide me with that are Titanium silver with both matte black and gloss black exterior trim?
Since the nearest BMW dealership is about an hours drive away and I am a busy work-aholic (or a lazy american) I was wondering if someone could give me some advice as to where to look for the UK options and maybe some opinions on some must have options I cant get in the US....?

P.S. I am a newb to this forum so if this is really simple I apologize. I did utilize the search function but there was just so many pages and I got tired of looking (really im just a lazy american hehehe)

I thought that we were still paying.

Although a bit of rampant 70's style inflation means that the sums involved are far from significant.

I hope that we are submitting an account for Iraq

I am very regretful to inform you that I am unable to purchase a new Beammer for you all at that price. They have this rediculous rule where you have to have owned the vehicle for two years before you can sell it. Oh, I forgot to mention it is American spec (LHD) as well hence the american price I am getting but since I am buying it here I can get UK/Europe options (the reason for the thread) I have to pay UK prices for the options so I am finding it may be quite spendy afterall.
As for the WWII debt... I dont know it would have been pretty hard to learn German wouldn't it? hehehe (only joking). If you want to get a good price on a new Beammer move to the States and get one there. Realize you will be paid half as much seeing as the dollar is only worth about 50 pence (sp?) right now.

Welcome to the forum Mors.

Matt - the configurator isn't restricted to just one person, you should be able to run it on your own PC too

PS. When is Viv back - Carl had better run the hoover round the forum

I used to go to Lakenheath/Mildenhall bases years ago, and buy the troops cars off them before they returned. American stuff.

They used to live 'off base' just over the road then, and some lads took us into the base one night to the bar......we don't remember the 3 days after that

I would imagine things have changed now, but met some nice people.....going back 25 years tho...

I hope you've been using that sh*t-sucking device of yours, Carlossofsuction.

Reminds of this recent story from the Edinburgh Festival.

‘Captain Dan the Demon Dwarf’, was due to perform at the Circus of Horrors at the festival known for its oddball, offbeat performances.
The main part of his act saw him appear on stage with a vacuum cleaner attached to his member through a special attachment.
The attachment broke before the performance and Blackner tried to fix it using extra-strong glue, but unfortunately only let it dry for 20 seconds instead of the 20 minutes required.
He then joined it directly to his organ. The end result? A solid attachment, laughter, mortification and … hospitalisation.

Oh, & welcome to the forum, Mors Inimicis.

Viv
