Lease is 24 months, 12k miles, MSRP is $51,975. Nothing down, bank fee, all misc fees rolled into lease. $560 a month... not bad

Just curious how you got your msrp? I got $51,600 with your options, and invoice $47,400...

On a lease. You always and only pay for this much <--------> of a lease and your residual is always this much <--->.

In other words the money you put down and your total COMBINED payments will always equal the same amount.

It just depends on what you want your payment to be at and if you can afford the money down...

Ok but to your point, if you get into an accident and the car is a total loss 2 months out, you are out of your down payment. Whether that is 2k or 5k. Personally, if I'm to lease a car, I'd rather keep my money because I know I can invest it and return more than the rate of interest being charged.

Yea, putting money down on a lease is never a good idea. It's a big risk considering you lose all the money you put down if your car is a total loss. But paying taxes and all that good stuff is upfront is good.

Either you put money down and have a lower payment or don't put any and have a higher monthly payment. Your choice. In a lease, your money always goes down the drain

Well even if it was financed as a purchased and you totalled your car...what happens to your money... (hopefully you purchased gap insurance) lol.

Purchase and lease are really same money and same principle. I'm not trying to thread jack but try this:

Add all your lease payments together, then add your money down. Then add in your residual and you get a total sum. (excluding taxes and interest in your residual).

Then add the same car and price in a 60 month purchase option and look at your sum. Its VERY VERY VERY close in amounts.

Overall Lease Vs Purchase is dependant on preferance

Only on a lease... You have to purchase gap in a conventional purchase

Hey guys, just took my 335xi from the dealer Saturday for a good $100/month more than Ryan's offer. I'm too impatient to do the whole 60 day waiting period again as I had already ordered this car ~45 days before finding this post. But if I had know better, I would have definitely gone through Ryan. He provided a terrific no hassle quote, maximizing my savings and getting me the best deal, it was the lowest I could find anywhere. And when I was just trying to negotiate my original local-dealer deal, he was terribly helpful and informative, without any real shot at my business. I will say my next order will be through him and I advise anyone looking at ordering a car to email Ryan and talk with him first. Your local dealer will not be able to match his deal. Hope this saves someone from the mistake I made!
However, I do have a brand spanking new 335xi so I can't really complain as Id pay >1k to drive this beast.

I think you can do a little better on the cap cost. My MSRP was 44175 and I got the cap cost to 40650 with rebate which ended up being just $25 over invoice.
