I have a rear-drive 6spd 335i and I'll be winter driving that.

I'm going to mount a set of Michelin X-Ice3's on and it should be great! I was hoping to get a set of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 Run-Flats but they didn't have the appropriate load rating for the size I wanted.

I too will be driving my RWD 328i in the coming winter. Threw on my old E46's 16 inch Bridgestone Blizzak WS70's as they were only 1 season old and I didn't feel like investing in a brand new set. They aren't run flats (un)fortunately.

On a side note, I don't understand why so many people keep saying that I will suffer in the winter months with a RWD car. I never got stuck once with my RWD E46 and quite the contrary saw more FWD getting stuck than me. Assuming most people drive with a heavy foot or have automatics. I find having a manual helped a lot with my previous vehicle.

I don't see a problem with driving RWD in the winter as well.

The only trouble I had last year was coming out of a parking lot after a heavy snow fall. Just disable the traction, rock back and forth and voila!

I find most people that tell you that " oh have fun driving with your RWD in the winter" they actually have front wheel drive cars and never driven RWD cars in the past lol!!

you'll be just fine with winter tires, if you had all seasons or summer I would be worried haha

i wouldnt have a problem driving my car in winter either but with the new suspension and options to drive other cars ... i went against it. i dont think its getting stuck that most people are worried about in winter with rwd. i think its the scariness of older rwd cars that fish tail so easily without the traction control and all that people have the idea that rwd cars are scary to drive in winter. times have changed and many still don't get it

Nice wheels, but what the hell did you do to the suspension? The thing must ride like schit! looks like your running on about 2 inches of the rear tire and rest of the tire is in the air. I never got that look

I think Otto's BMW does it. I'm still waiting for the service advisor to get back to me... Will let you know once I find out!

Check out Duss Brother's on Wellington. They're BMW geniuses.

Still haven`t got any information about the intake cleaning service with the walnut blasting technique.

Does anyone know any shop in Ottawa that does this?

Unfortunately I would have to disagree

I have (had) been a loyal customer of Duss Bros since my move to Ottawa in 2000 and had my E30, E36, and E46 serviced there. Mind you this is when Rudy actually worked on the cars himself and/or was fully engaged with the techs there. And, needless to say my experience was great!

However, in past 3 years, I have had nothing but nightmarish service when it comes to getting something one would expect from "BMW Genuises". And to be blunt, the techs could'nt or I should say would'nt think farther out than reading the error outputs for simplest things. Questions such as did you run XYZ diagnostic or test plan found on DIS for ABC problem? Answer from Terry would always be: "I can run that for you but that will be an hour labor (yes on top of what you paid for initial diagnostics since we took the car off the hoist)!". In hindsight, I could have told them that this is XYZ and I have been coming here for 14 years, but you can allow yourself to be screwed only so many times.

Regular service items such as brakes, clutch, battery changes, etc. are cheaper at dealer anyway (DIY is obviously cheapest but I don't have as much time as I used to have so that is not an option for me), but I continued to go to Duss anyway because frankly I did'nt mind spending a whee bit more in support of local business. Not to mention, Otto's will provide you shuttle drop off and pick up and if great capuccinno

However, third time was a charm for them and me, and I have returned back to Otto's, who all said and done will do work for same price when you consider their customer service is vastly superior to what Duss Bros offers in todays day and age.

So, in my opinion and experience of last 3 tries, they are not the BMW geniuses anymore. Also, note that you will see young techs working on the vehicles there and I highly doubt they are able to provide you with the knowledge of a experienced tech a dealer would have on site. Needless to say, my 335 and 540 will not return to Duss and neither will the 5 other 3'ers and 5'ers within my family.

I can only say, very sadly, that they "were" BMW Geniuses, but now they are not much more than another shop with some grease monkeys.

My 0.02 cents YMMV.

Import does not have the diagnostic equipment to diagnos problems but they might be able to do regular maintainence. I talked to them and their tech onsite and he did'nt appear to have BMW specific knowledge and told me that I should go to dealer for my issue. Like said above, for diagnostics I highly recommend going to Otto's.

Another option I looked into and found them knoledgeable was Young Street Garage. But it all depends on what you are looking to have done regular maintainence, coding, or proper diagnostics?

Anyone know when does BMW Finance Canada offer specials? I know they have a special now on 2013 3 series at 0.99% but for cabs only. Perhaps, its cyclical on their part and that way I can figure out when I will make my 4'er purchase (or possible an iS)?!?

I am hesitant to suggest anyone after that detailed/scathing report from bavaddict LOL
BTW I do not deal with Ottos, as they have an aversion for ppl like me in jeans.
Try this location http://www.autovation.ca/
I am NOT associated with the firm.
Cheers

They have one going right now...seeing that you deal with Ottos, you can check with your CSR at that location.
Cheers
