Tire size vs power/torque
Would having a 275/30 19 vs a 265/30 19 affect the torque/power so much to actually lose torque? I am having this discussion with a tire vendor who insists that a 275 will lose approximately 3%. On a 400whp that equates to 12whp. I always thought it was a good idea to go with a wider footprint but if it's that taxing I'd opt for more power to the ground. Thoughts?

What it comes down to is it does affect the torque applied to the ground thrpugh gear ratios and torque multiplication..if you look at the discussion on gear ratios where i eas thinking og swapping to a 2.56 final drive from a 3.08 (on the other forum) you'll see that tire diameter will indeed affect it ... hcant put a number on it right now as i'm typing this sitting in my car in rush hour but it can be calculated easily and you can also get the excel spreadsheet i posted on there and see for yourself

you're basically spreading out the gearing (increasing rpm window) a little with taller tires, which will reduce average hp/acceleration. But i would rather have taller gearing for the n54.
