oil leak

Hey guys I have a bad leak from what seems like the block. I changed the oil filter housing gasket 1 week ago because of a bad oil leak I had. I looked around the valve cover and ofhg again and its clean. What do you guys think?

I also think the picture is too small - is that turbo side?

I'd bet you just didn't clean up from your oil filter housing gasket replacement or you pinched the gasket or something.

Make sure your filter housing o-ring is on the right groove. It doesn't actually sit on the groove closest to the lip, it's a bit closer to the threads.

(don't ask how I know this! )

Best way to do it is to take the bottom pan off and clean from both the top and the bottom. If you've had oil misting or spraying from the oil filter area it will manage to find its way everywhere.

ok so I cleaned up as much oil as I can find and water downed that side and dryed up everything. it took a really long time! It seems like it still is leaking!
It seems like there is a gasket in there or a space between there. Possibly oil still stuck from previous leaks still in there. Could there be another lower block and a gasket in between there. I find it hard to believe the block could be leaking!

Perhaps you didnt get the gasket placed properly? I had oil in those exact same spots....it was my oil filter housing gasket. I had the engine cleaned and have not had any oil there since.

I am pretty sure if it is the valve cover gasket it will leak down the turbo side of the block.

I'm just an amateur though so take this with a grain of salt.
