Try the pirelli p-zero Nero summer
The size upgrade 225 35-19 front
Rear 255 30-19 it will make your car very nice and sexy people will say u smart buy
I used it almost a year 100% u love it
the m6 wheel look great to e90 super!

Thanks for the advice, but would it be a big hassle to re-adjust the speedometer because of the larger wheels (going from 17 to 19 inches)? Come to think of it, i better check if there are michelin sport in 17 inches in Hong Kong (do they have that in HK?)

No need to adjust speedometer. Going for larger rims doesn't mean larger wheels. Just use lower profile tiles. Today's low profile tires are very comfortable even on imperfect roads. I have 255/35/20 front and 285/30/20 rear, still very comfy.

Not sure if the super sport has all the sizes yet. HK is much slower than North America and Europe.

super sport is replacing sport cup as i know. I figured it out PSS is o/e tires for new M5 when i was visiting Shanghai autocar show 2011. Only 19"/20" ready in HK at this moment.

Well I go 2 pairs of Goodyear Efficientgrip as temp. replacement since the garage I went to didn't have Michelin PS or Bridgestone Potenza. Efficientgrip is not exactly the most sporty of tires, but it will do for now until I have time to get more sporty tires. At least I can save a little $ at the gas pump because of it's low rolling resistance.

Still, since for better or worse I have efficientgrips for the time being, what are the reviews for this type of tires? Anyone tried it?

I am also thinking about Continental ExtremeContact DW, I heard some good reviews, anyone here tried it? Although that might be too extreme for me, since some say it has a too-short tread life and I am looking for the right balance between sporty performance and reasonable longevity.

Do you know any good reliable HK Island tire shop (i.e. have plenty of tire choices+won't rip me off)? The garage I went to wasn't so good, as it did'nt have my choice of tires, so planning to look elsewhere.

Some of my friends go to the tire shop in Watson Road in Tin Hou. I am not sure if they are cheap, but the shop seems to be quite honest and they sell "hong goods".

Its called "Hang Lee" in chinese on Watson Road near the corner of King Ming Road. Its relatively small shop only 2 guys working there, just go in and ask for the price.

I went to have a look at that place yesterday, they don't seem to have goodyear f1 asymmetric and they don't have my tire size for the Michelin PS. They do have that Goodyear RS Sport, but that tire seems to be tailored for track use only and maybe too hardcore for daily use and will probably wear out in no time. I think there was a miscommunication between myself and Hang Lee. But anyway the problem is solved. The first time I went there, they don't have it. Then today they called me and they said they have Eagle F1! Great news, so I drove the car there this morning and have the new Eagle F1 tires fitted. It's rather early to give a full review of the tires, but so far, the ride is better then the way-too-harsh Conti runflats that I had. Sometimes I felt like I was driving on rocks with the runflats, but thankfully, the Eagle F1 avoids that problem. It's still a firm ride, but that's what sporty tires is about, I accept that so long as it's not too harsh.

Also, the grip is great and the driver feedback is good. I tried a fast corner and the car stuck to the road like glue. As for tread life, well of course that's too early to say, but I will drive in a mix normal easy-going commuting and weekend "spirited" driving, so we'll see.

Here's my experience with the wet traction of my new tires:

Holy cow, I just got back from driving in absolutely the worse road condition I have experienced in Hong Kong.

There was this incredible torrential downpour. No, "downpour" don't do it justice, more like a niagara falls! The rain was loud as a freight train going by and it was just pounding and shaking the windscreen. I could barely see 50 feet in front of me. Also, I had real trouble seeing the markings of my lane. Sometimes, it would just disappear into the heavy rain. I was driving on the North Lantau Highway and many cars had their hazard light on and doing 60 km in a 110 zone, because it's just way too dangerous to drive fast in this condition. The fastest I went was around 80 km and I was real nervous in places when the already heavy rain suddenly became even heavier.

Thank heaven for my new tires. Now this was a REAL test for the wet traction of my tires. I think my car would have aquaplane if I still had my old tires. So yes, given the somewhat terrifying driving condition I just experienced, I can say the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric really does deliver on the wet traction. Despite the rain, at no time did I feel I was losing control of my car. Although I hope I won't have to experience such driving condition again..or at least anytime soon.

Now I have to worry about my home carpark, which is below ground and the rainwater is just gushing in and creating a minor flood, hope the estate management can handle this before it affect the cars (including my own)!

goodyear is actually quite good

got my last set of revspec changed after ~20k, coz the thread on the side ran out
the shop told me the F1 asymmetric would be a bit more durable, though it's a bit more bouncy and noisy

Did you encounter the kind of downpour I experienced? Or hopefully (luckily for you), just a more "normal" rain shower? So I guess PS2 has better wet traction then RE11? I actually saw one or two cars hydroplaning on the highway last night, did you see any cars loose control? It's funny, the average driver don't think much about "mundane" items like their tires until it's raining cats and dogs like last night. Then you really will be counting on the tread pattern and depth of your tires to see you through.
