O2 Sims for headers?

Anyone know where I can get a set of O2 Sims for catless headers?

I've had a set of MMW catless headers installed for a while, but I'm at my two years and need to SMOG before November. I'm assuming I'll be able to get through just fine as long as I get that cat readiness status.

So anyone have a way to get a pair, or way to contact Mapleridge about a set?

Thanks

BMS discontinued the downpipe fix, no?
And didn't mapleridge get banned here? It's probably right under my nose, but where did he post the link for the mini-cat?

On his mega thread. Which I think is deleted. The left over thread may not have the info

The recent china header thread had an o2 cat sim from Aliexpress linked

I'll look up my email

I have the off road tune. That doesn't fix the cat readiness light though.

o2 spacers that restrict the flow post cat will work. The mini cats are a gimick and overpriced. I had access to some that were working. $60 shipped. Let me know if anyone wants some and I will order some up. 304 stainless.

I've seen some people say yes and some say no... will the BMS DP fix work for giving me a 'complete' cat readiness status?

I'm not doing this to get rid of a CEL or anything... that is already taken care of with my AA tune.

I just need that complete status before attempting smog.

3 things.
  1. AA tune turns cat readiness to off so you will not be able to get readiness unless you switch the tune
  2. DP fix will not work. period. It was built for the n54 which has different o2 sensors if I am not mistaken.
  3. you will need the evolve tune or o2 spacers like the ones I have used in the past.

My 2 years is coming up too..I thought the off road tune takes care of it all and I heard that the BMS downpipe fix worked even for n52's...weird.

not true. I have tried on every setting. The o2 sensor on the n54 is wideband and I believe ours is not.

I tried mini-cats and they worked until they came loose and too much air was getting in, then the code would come on. Nonetheless after I tightened them they helped me get readiness and pass the obd test. As for the catalyst they have inside it is almost non existent. The trick is in restricting the flow to the sensor which is achieved through creating a restriction in the spacer. I can get stainless ones which do the same thing for half the cost of the minicat.

On another note, please check your local regs. Many tests allow for one system to be "not ready". In this case, anyone with the AA tune would still pass their emissions test.

Are you sure the AA tune turns the cat readiness status to off? I was under the assumption that all the offroad tune did was turn off the CEL.

Yes, the AA offroad tune turns the cat readiness status to "off/not ready/incomplete"

Finally someone with some correct information

I have these headers and jumped through hoops to pass inspection

SPACERS WILL NOT WORK. I tried it. Rare occasions that work on some peoples cars but more often than not, waste of time/ money

The only solution is Evolve tune. Period. Unless you can get another tuning company to turn o2 to "ready"

Thats what I did and am a happy camper!

Also there will be one readiness monitor that will show incomplete, most states allow this. Anything more than one will fail inspection

In my case, the mini cats worked but the only problem was that they would come loose and too much air was getting in, thus the code would come back. When properly tightened it was working. Perhaps this is an issue others run into.
