Need a mirror cover painted -- recommendations?

Hey guys,

I need to have a mirror cover painted for my mom's jet black 328xi. I was wondering if anyone in the NoVA area knew a painter who does side-work and might be willing to take on a small job like this.

Otherwise, any recommendations for a body shop that would do a small job like this without breaking the bank? In the past I've used D&V for any major body/paint work but I have a feeling they're going to want upwards of $100 and I can't justify paying that for such a small job.

Thanks in advance! (And Happy Thanksgiving!)

There is a guy named Chuck that does this for the dealerships. I was going to get the tiny knick I got on the hood fixed by him but decided to get it fixed locally. I recall he is in the Gaithersburg area.

D&V is expensive and will pound you for that small job. There's a good paint shop in Gaithersburg that everyone raves about on the Mid Atlantic forum. Someone will chime in with the name.

BDC,I think you're talking EuroPros. They do fantastic work but also are not cheap. It wouldn't hurt to call them up and see what they can do for you, though. They painted one of my mirror covers a while back, but I couldn't tell you how much it was because it was one aggregate bill with the custom front bumper and some other stuff.

OP, Derrick Ford is the owner. He or Ellen will probably take care of you...

If you roll over there, you'll see a lot stuffed full of p-cars, Lexi and some miscellaneous BMWs. They typically have at least a handful of race spec cars getting work done as well (on the weekdays).

Thats it....I need to talk to them as well for my M3 front bumper respray....hoping their quote is no where near D&V's $600 absurd estimate.

TBH, im not sure if that is absurdly high or not, considering the prep work that goes into a proper respray. I would guess less, but i dont really know anything and you do wind up paying more for anything quality when living in the DMV. I guess the proof would be in the warranty period they would be willing to put in writing for you. Why are you having to re spray it? Damage or bad paint job out the gate?

We used a paint scanner to check the color match after EuroPros painted my front bumper (alpine white) off the car. Front bumper to fender was a 99.8% match (no blending). Not sure about the price, but their quality is spot on.

Ashburn Collision painted my M3 rep bumper OFF the car for $200....and it was a good job. $600 for the same work is absurd. no damage either time....

$400 would be fair.

I just got my sonic tuning csl trunk painted off the car by D&V and they said they no longer offer warranty for aftermarket pieces that they paint. They did a great job and the alpine white matches pretty well.
