Snow Tire Size Recommendation for 335is

Is there a recommended snow tire size for a 335is? I'm in Kansas City, MO; We don't usually get crazy snow, but we do get a few weeks during the winter where driving gets dicey.

Currently the car has the BMW Performance 313's in 19" on it. No way I'm driving 19 inchers during the winter. Figured 18" with equal widths (not staggered) all around with winter tires was the way to go.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Oh, and I'm new to the E9x and this forum, came from an E46 330xi and hung out at e46fanatics.com.

Dunlop M3s or 3Ds for dry+snow
Bridgestone LM-60s for snow+dry

edit: ops....you need size.....i had 225/45/17s easier to find and cheaper then 18s

I ran 225/40/18's which were fine for 3 winters but this year I hit a bad pothole and got a bubble in one tire. I say go with 17's and a taller sidewall.

You can't get too much snow in KC. I'd choose a performance Winter tire like Blizzak or Alpin over a max snow traction tire. I'm still driving my Blizzaks all over California and they don't handle too bad..

Blizzak LM60 and Pilot Alpin PA3 would be good for that area based on last years snow tire information. Check back in September for info on what will be available for this upcoming winter season.

I'd suggest checking back in mid to late September when we have information on this upcoming winter tires. You'll be pretty snow-free up there well into October or maybe even November.

Buy the skinniest and highest sidewall that fits on the vehicle for best snow performance.

I ended up going with 18"s since I had an extra wheel set laying around. Part of me wishes I sold the 18's and bought 17's.

+1, I have style 185's or 188's (cant remember) wrapped in that size and have been fine in winter in CO so far. Blizzak LM-25's all around.
