JB+ with V29.2 Question
I have been sitting on the computer doing searches between e90post and n54 tech for the past hour and cannot find an updated definitive answer so I am sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I cannot find it and also don't know if it is recent.
Question - is there a way for the dealer to detect by some hidden code with version 29.2 that I have a JB+ and or BMS DCI? I just had my car in for some typical warranty work (HPFP) and of course brought it in bone stock. They said before they could replace the hpfp they had to update the software so I'm assuming it went to the new 29.2. I have been reading that when 29.2 first came out it was supposed to be able to detect tunes and throw some secret hidden dealer read only code. I read it also depended if you had DME 80 vs DME 81. If anyone would be so kind to let me know how CURRENTLY this all factors in with regards to hidden codes and dealer warranties because again I am not sure what is new and what is old news. My car is 2007 335i Coupe. Running JB+ at default setting (50%) and also have a BMW DCI. I use Bavarian Technic as well so I can check the visible codes. Thanks so much in advance! |

If they are updating your car you would have the latest software which is MANY versions beyond 29.2. If you have a BT tool then you really have no worries about codes as you can just scan your car before going into the dealer and if running at 50% on the JB+ you are pretty safe as well.
With the BT and DCI and if you have 93 octane you can try bringing the JB+ up to 75% even. Mike |
