Basic boost switch meth injection for cooling purposes
I'm guessing I'll get a little negative feedback for this but I was interested in starting a discussion about a boost switch activated meth kit for IAT reduction. I know very well that it wouldn't be safe without some controller failsafe such as the JB4 integration if used as a fuel to boost octane and reduce detonation but I'm only interested in using the meth for cooling purposes. I currently run ~E50 and I have no need for higher octane. I had planned on running something like a 30-40% methanol mixture to minimize the risk of any fire (this is basically straight cold temp washer fluid) With this setup I expect to see results better than any upgraded intercooler could give me without any pressure drop from a larger core.
I would simply get the BMS kit that integrates with the jb4 but I have a Cobb tune which (after a lot of tweaking) is finally running very well. Yes, I could stack tunes but I'm looking for a cost effective solution that can be easily removed for dealer work. |

Oh and incase anyone was wondering, since there's no vacuum/boost lines to tap I plan on just adding a second bung to my VRSF charge pipe, 1/8 NPT and a nipple fitting.. I'd rather not tap the manifold.
