Exclamation Bmw Pe Exhaust

hey guys I had a quick question, I received my pe and the y pipe was bent inwards in some places, is that ok?? One of the y pipe seems flat while the other is circular. Just wanted to know so please let me know if I should return the part and ask for replacement or it's fine the way it is, thanks for the feed back!

Your exhaust sounds normal. I suspected the same thing when I unpacked mine but then looked at some of the photos posted and saw the same "defects". Notice how hard it would be to ding the exhaust pipes? It would have to be run over with a Mac truck to ding it.

Mine is the same and I thought maybe it got banged up during shipment. Muffler shop said it's normal and for fitment reasons.... exhaust still sounds like it's supposed to so i'm not worried about it

Thinking of getting one for the 328
Does it actually help in throttle response?
Have you noticed any mpg loss?

I would predict worse mpg...simply because you won't be able to resist giving it the beans to make that beautiful P/E sound!

When does the PE go on your car?

Those of us with the PE already know what we think of this exhaust. Be sure and let us know what you think!

Yeah for some reason bmw like crush bends - this is a clear case for this exhaust not giving optimum performance - it reduces the diameter of the piping.

another satisfied PE customer

hey guys i got it on yesterday and I must say I absolutely love it!! and knowing i haven't even broken into it and its only gonna sound better with time is just exciting. the issue about mpg, i haven't really noticed any mpg loss. If mpg does get affected its probably cuz i can't stop reving to hear that beautiful sound.

Congrats!! It's definitely a beautiful sound and it's only gonna get louder! I've had mine on for about 3000 miles now and I think it just now reached its "maximum" loudness

If you want better throttle response, you need to look into the BMS powerbox, Which I have and I love it, and now with the PE the car just feels faster then ever before, hope this helps.

It helps, I have the pbx, not sure I really like it, it seems to amplify the jerkiness of the trans and when getting back on the gas after a turn from a slow down it shifts down and back up hard like it's not sure what it wants to do. I leave it in stock map to keep it from being so amplified.
Thanks
