"Interestingly, the ARB does not cite any actual emission problems with Ford's Fiesta models. The small vehicles are among the automaker's most fuel-efficient and eco-friendly offerings."
Good grief. What a bunch of nonsense... |

Unable to read parameters through OBD2 port.
It makes me think of modified cars and the ECU errors when it comes to smog check. Pointless for us in the CARB infested territory. |

Kind of surprised they didn't hear anything from the feds. Or maybe they did. I don't think CA has its own OBD regs. Currently most of the regs are the same in CA as federal from an initial production standpoint.

I am always amazed that all California rules always apply to small / medium size engines but ford / gm trucks and suv's are always exempt to many rules?? is it cause they are worry they will kill american vehicle industry ???
Lets pick up on little fiesta for emissions cause Ford only sells one fiesta every 10,000 5 litre trucks that had engines designed in 80's but they sell more . How is 5 little engine ok in California and yet little Fiesta not??? Blows my mind Last edited by grzes; 05-02-2014 at 06:16 AM.. |

1/2 ton trucks fit into the same emissions category as the fiesta. Its the heavy duty trucks (3/4 ton and up) that have different emissions and the reason is that if you are rated to tow 12k lbs there is no way to meet the stricter emissions standard realistically.

Amigos back in the day there were two cars sold in the market one was for California and the other was for the rest of the states and trust there were problems back then with the California cars. And as I mentioned I told you so EPA is begining to check up on tuners. To sad

that is possible but I think only in california, but once again they are starting from the wrong end, if they really care about the environment that much they should look into who owns a truck, suv and how many people are inside for each trip, justify 5 litre engine just so one person can get to work and back and burn 18 litres of gas for 100 km, is that environmentally friendly???? but hey I bet part of it is that if they say hey to that they know for example ford would have some troubles as their 150 best selling vehicle ever would have to drop the sales, and I bet that truck keeps the company going
