As I'm booked for an auto box oil change next week; the chap who owns the garage and I both agreed a flush to clear the torque converter would be a good idea before filling with ZF fluid.

I didn't fancy spending £140 on ZF Lifeguard 6 that was then drained immediately so went on the hunt.

I found this which conforms to the correct BMW spec at just £35ish for 10 litres.

Happy days!

So you're going to use the cheap stuff for the flush, then drain again and fill with ZF Lifeguard 6? Sounds like a plan. Just don't drive the car very far (if at all) with the cheapy stuff in there.

Yep that's the one.

I doubt it'll even get driven. It'll probably stay on the ramp, run up to temp and then drop again.

At £35 for 10l it's worth a punt.

But when you drain it, a load of that cheap stuff will stay in there right ? In the converter

A torque converter full of ZF spec oil is better than burnt 80k ZF oil.

Mannol are a well respected brand in Germany.

This is a useful thread;

Fair point, both meet the same spec, and I know there is quite a bit of label changing in the oil industry, same oil different label.

I've heard of Mannol before, for a flush I would say it's bang on well worth the money.
