No phonebook for Bluetooth and iDrive? (related to "Save Name" voice command quest.)
It seems to be that if you have iDrive & Bluetooth, and your phone does not upload the phone's contact list (like my Nokia 6820), you are pretty much out of luck when trying to do any of the following:
1) Save a number by name, either by voice or to be called up on the iDrive screen 2) Dial by name (like above) 3) any kind of phonebook for your car. Why is there no internal phone book for the e90? And the only numbers you'll be able to scroll through is going to be numbers you've dialed through your car or that you've received in your car (such as Last Dialed, Received Calls, Missed Calls, Top 8). Your A-Z function is basically useless if you have iDrive and a phone that doesn't sync its phone book, right? Is there going to be any software updates of fixes for this? Or is it going to be only resolvable by getting a fully compatible phone? Thanks for any feedback. Hey RedStripe!
Me again ;-) 1.) saving numbers only with Navi Business 2.) dial by name only if adress book is synched 3.) see 1.) ;-) So it seems that you are pretty screwed with your phone... I don't have a clue if BMW will implement the "save name" feature for Navi Prof. with one of the next SW updates. So the "get yourself a new and E90 compatible phone" option will probably be the quickest way to walk mwie |
