DCT Paddle Install Help!!!
Guys,
Trying to retrofit M3 DCT Paddle Shift however I can't remove the old paddle shift pin from the multi function button. I don't want to strip or destroy it by force. Can you help? everything is already out except the pin. I'm unsure if I should disassemble the multi function button. Thanks Last edited by eriktufa; 10-27-2012 at 05:09 AM.. |

You can't retrofit the m3 paddles without the whole module that the paddles are attached to. Is that what you are referring to?

Pull slightly towards you from where it connects then pull it sideways because there's a little clip inside thats attached, it doesn't take much force. I did it the first time easily and yes you can retrofit them, it's been done many times by others so don't listen to others saying you can't.

Spent 4 hours as a newbie to remove everything safely and that pin made me put everything back to stock again just because I need to drive the car!!
Madness. Thanks JS-NA.E92. I'll give it a try tomorrow. When you said pull towards me, just straight towards me? no sideways action? I wiggled that thing so many times then gave up. |

The retrofit can be done as has been said - it is a case of wiggling it I guess. I had the paddle retrofit on my car and I got a bit excited and connected the paddle to the clip before putting it through the wheel. I couldn't get it out hahah! Same situation you're in. I gave up and gave it to a friend who got it out no problems.

See in the picture how your holding it? hold it like that and pull towards you slightly so it unclips then you wiggle/pull it sideways while your doing that first action. First time I did it only took me 5 minutes to figure out there was something clipped inside the multi-function button holding it in place.
