Grease coming out from somewhere
I discovered some grease coming out somewhere from either brakes or joints. It's only on left side of the car (front and back) actually much more on the front than back. Grease is very tick, smooth and there is no any metal or any other shredding. Also i am getting periodical Brake/ABS/DTC light trifecta.
Wondering if someone knows what this could be and is it there any possible connection between. Car is 07' 328i. Thanks in advance . |

QUOTE] Looks like the grease used to pack the boots of the CV joints in the driveshafts. Odd that you would see simultaneous failures in more than one boot. The errors might be because the grease has fouled the sensors. Easy enough to check - poke at each boot and if it's cracked or split, it should be fairly obvious. |

If it's a 328i, there are no CV boots in front. Is there any grease on the tires? The only greased items are the wheel bearing, Tie Rod End, and balljoints. Only the wheel bearing rotates with enough force to throw grease, but the wheel bearing is completely shielded by the tire. My guess is you ran over something.

I would bet the ABS problem is unrelated to the grease. Have someone figure out which sensor is throwing the light and check the sensor. Sometimes low brake pad material will throw the same lights.
