One day when I entered to garage I found some blue water on the ground at right side of the car. And then the windshield water level alarm comes out. I know something wrong with the windshield wash system.
E90 windshield water tank is at a weird location. It is behid of the right front tire. See the pictures. You have to remove the two pieces of thecovers to access it. Then I find the leaking part is the pump. There is a small crack on the plastic body. Call dealer they quoted 100 bucks. Check ebay the same one costs 20 if you get from China it is only 10. What a difference. Ordered one from US seller 20 bucks. I also used supdr glue fixed the old pump looks not leak any more. Put it back no leak everything is good. Keep the ebay one as spare.

At first I was thinking it is the filter leaking so I changed the filter with the rubber adapter that seals the water. After I install back still leaks tthe I foubd it is the pump body . So I find the crack and put some super glue . Fix it.

Hey good stuff man. I can't help but think that superglue and freezing weather do not like each other though. Unless you live in some very good climate.

Thanks for the DIY. I've been wanting to look at my system as it takes about 5-7 seconds of tugging on the stalk for fluid to get to my windshield. I'm thinking my filter is a bit clogged or something now.

Thanks man. I am in CA it is never frozen. Also I keep a new pump spare if the superglue repair doesn't hold.

I am sure your filter is clogged that is the first thing I noticed when I pulled the filter out. Suggest you to buy a new filter with the rubber ring from dealer as it has bigger hole and tighter than old means better seal. Costs couple bucks but will save you lots of time to do again.

The changing only takes couple minutes but to disassemble and access it is a pain I will say you need 1 to 2 hours total.

Mines leak at the same place, I sealed it with some glue and put clay sealant on the leaking part. Held up for a couple months then started leaking again. Now i'm back trying to figure out the part number to that pump thing you pulled out.
