How do I get rid of these icons?

Been meaning to ask for a while now but only remembered to take a picture yesterday.

I have all POIs turned off, but when I zoom out far enough you can see that there's little icons that show up on my nav screen. In urban areas it's hard to see the map what with all the icons.

I don't think this is the "shopping cart bug" as I was able to update my nav to the 2013 maps myself with just the FSC code.

I did mention this to the SA last time my car was in the dealership; they were "unable to reproduce the problem"

anyone know what this is and is there a fix?

Car is a 2009 E92 335i, one of the first with CIC. Has had Sirius retrofitted; I have not done any coding to the car.

thanks!

I believe that's the Real Time Traffic showing you there are accidents/construction/etc. on the roads.

You should be able to disable the traffic warnings in the options menu under Navigation.

Ah... I just ASSumed that those were POIs. Either I didn't RTFM well enough or the FM isn't clear enough In any case if those are traffic warnings they're useless because I live in NoVA, I know traffic is fucked everywhere. And I'm running Waze on my smart phone whenever I'm driving more than a couple blocks.

I will try as you suggest and hopefully report success...

Yup traffic indicators, I find them moderately useful in areas when I really know traffic patterns well since they will alert you to abnormally heavy traffic or new construction.

That said, if you're running Waze then you're set.

You can also turn these off when in map using 'options' button or going to the rightmost tab which comes up after clicking the wheel to the right (since you have nav screen up)

seriously, the pic I took is abnormal in that there's only a couple icons up there. Probably because I just turned the car on to test some .mp3 files that I'd added to my thumb drive to make sure they played so I didn't find out they didn't work while on a long drive, therefore the car had only been on a few minutes when I thought to get out my phone and snap a pic. On a normal day, there's so many of the damn things that the map is useless.

you guys were right, I disabled all of them except road closures and had to drive about 30 miles today, only two of them showed up. Thanks!
