AFR Problem seems to be limited to DCTs, correct. Thank you for your Logs, though. Now it's obvious that it's related to the tranny .

And by the way:
It's not only me having these problems. I would never ever open such a Thread if these were only my problems. Everyone I know of (German cars, DCT, N55) has these problems.

+1 It is a general COBB N55 DCT problem and it looks we start even to get some evidence, as everybody over here is reporting the same issue!

Here is a log that I took running 93 octane and Stage 1 Aggressive. This is the first log that I took so I'm not sure if I did it correctly but I don't see any spikes in my AFR like your logs. I am now running 30% e85 so I will need to log again soon.

You have the same issue with AFR (it even drops as low as 10.0 !!! after gear shift).

It's not as obvious from your graph since the scale is not appropriate for AFR values.

I'm not seeing that but I'm no expert. It looks like my AFR dropped into the 10s while at 6k+ RPM but when I shifted it actually increased back to the 11s at low RPMs. Whereas in the OPs log, it drops into 10s AFTER he shifted. Again I could be incorrect but there seems to be a difference. Either way it looks like I need a pro tune.

My OTS map did look similiar, you have throttle closures... Beside your shift doesnt look like a DCT shift... To evaluate the AFR post shift, you souldnt atleast have a TC during the process.

Were you able to resolve your throttle closures? I will need to take logs again with this 30% e85 and see if the problem persists.

To fix the throttle closures you need to download ATR and fix the WGDC(Base) table. There is a procedure that Cobb can help you with if you want to try.
Or you can have a protuner take care of it if changing your map is out of your comfort zone.

Do you guys have logs from the OEM ecu map to see if it gets the rich AFR after shifting with the DCT?
This is very interesting.

I believe in the US the only way to get the DCT was to get the 335is. The standard 335i did not have the DCT option, just the normal automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
Is that different in Europe? Maybe this is the reason the Cobb 335i maps are behaving strangely on your DCT equipped cars? Because Cobb does not have access to a 335i with DCT as they do not exist here?

Are you sure that you have dct? Your profile says you have the Alpina transmission flash.

Well in Germany the 335i with N55 engine (non X-Drive!) was only available as 6MT or 7DCT while the X-Drive was only available as 6MT or 6AT.

Sure you got an "xi" with "DCT"?

Anyways, today I received a reply from Cobb regarding my logs, especially AFR values:

Quote:
From the look of your logs your car is extremely happy and is running very safely.
The richness at shift is part of the logic of the DME and is utilized to keep the car safe. It is somthing that we may be able to address in the future. However, currently it is something that BMW likes so we are keeping it in for the time being.
I know this is something our engineers are wanting to look into. We hope we can address some of your concerns in the future.
Unfortunately no word regarding the throttle closures I was inquiring about.

Yeah that is different than the offering in the US. In the E9x we had only 6mt or 6at for both rwd an xdrive.
The new F30 N55's got either the 6mt or the 8at.
The only way to get the DCT here is with the 335is or the 135i and pay for the option.

This is how the DKG (DCT) shift lever looks like:

Also, DKG has 7 gears, opposed to 6 of the normal AT tranny.

Thank BMW for encrypting the DME.
