Alacantra seats with light grey carpet

BLACK ALACANTRA SEATS IN GREY INTERIOR?!

Hi all

I recently bought an 2005 e90 in Sparkling Graphite as my daily driver/project.

Now my car is pretty poverty spec and I bought it bone stock with cloth grey seats and steel wheels.

Since then I have put on some Style 156s, changed the grill to gloss black and had the car polished to restore the paint. I have also replaced the bumper with a pre painted one which happened to matched perfectly. From the outside it looks almost mint.

BUT the cloth grey non sport seats are really bugging me. Theyre comfortable enough but they dont scream BMW. Im not a massive fan of leather seats, especially old leather, but Im even less of a fan of grey leather.

I have come across some very cheap Alacantra M Sport Seats. Problem is Im not sure if they will match since I wont be able to change my light grey carpet.

Has anyone ever seen this combo before?

I have attached pictures of the seats and a stock image of a similar interior for reference.

That looks like it would match the light grey carpets well.

Does the interior swap include door panels, too? That would be more of a draw to the eye than the carpets IMO.

In either case, I say go for it - it will look great, and the sport seats will be a nice upgrade.

I upgraded to black leatherette M Sport seats (fronts) and love them! Huge difference over the stock lazy boy ones. Every time I get in the car I smile! So worth it! I also say go for it...it will be a nice contrast.

This. I'd swap the door panels too, but keep the grey leather sections.

Wow. That is definitely unique. I don’t think it was ever released in the States here.

Damn, the Euro headlights without that stupid orange corner piece looks so much better than the U.S. spec cars.

Phase 1 of my 2 tone interior complete.

Going to be colouring the bottom of my door panels black.

And sharing pics once done!

Here's the seats in.

Going to get black mats with grey trim and black armrest is going in tomorrow.

The only thing is... Im not sure if I can be bothered with the door cards.

Maybe I could use a brush on dye whilst their on the car.

Not confident with taking them off although I do have black ones available for cheap if I want them, Id probably prefer 2 tone.

Right now Im happy with how its progressing.

Looks great!

If you are worried about how to complete the door panel swap, I can send you a copy of the replacement procedure via DIS and/or Bentley manual.

I personally would swap the door panels versus trying to dye the original ones.

Sprayed the centre console rear cover. (actually its plastidip.) Ill probably buy OEM black. Although I do think the gloss black looks kinda aggressive and I think I quite like it. It also matches the seatbelt buckle.

Rubbed down door handles to black. I think I might buy OEM black door handles but the rub down effect blends immaculately into the alacantra and adds a sense of cohesion.

My interior now feels coordinated yet unique enough that nobody is going to have this interior combination.

Feeling good and sitting in the car it actually now feels sporty as a BMW should.

Love the look so far, although the rear center panel painted in black stands out a little I think.

It's progressing nicely.

I agree - so going to get it dyed to the OEM style black instead to match my armrest.

Dyed door handles for a 2 tone look.

What do we think, black door cards or keep it like this?
