No takers on BMW's 335 Lease offer? $509/mo

Now I am no newbie to leasing cars, but I am really confused why I am reading about people paying $700+ for their 335 leases when BMW is currently offering:

$509/mo

$509 First month's payment
$2,500 Down payment
$550 Security deposit
$3,559 Cash due at signing

"Monthly lease payments of $509.00 for 36 months based on MSRP of $42,850.00"

So if we throw in sales tax and option that car up a little bit so that it's a sale price of $45,000, push miles to 15k, you should still be in the low $600s as a monthly payment. Playing around with a lease calculator and the money rates posted in the forum further convinces me.

What am I missing here? Why are people laying down $700+ for a lease payment when you can buy the thing for not a lot more?

That's with Auto and metallic paint ONLY.. Considering each 1000 adds $20-30 to your lease, and most here have 46-47k 335is... 7x30(or 20)=140- 210 only in options. That's without tax.
Add tax and you have your 700 figure.

It's a depreciating asset, son, and that's why I prefer to lease. Any problems with the car...well...they just aren't MY problem.

Are there some advantages to buying...sure...but for me, it just doesn't work.

Using BMW's own website, I built out a 335i 6speed with paint, premium, sport, heated front seats, and I was still at $45,500 MSRP.

Again, pull out a lease calculator and use the money rates BMWFS are quoting as well as make sure to plug in proper sales tax figures and you're still nowhere $700.

Honestly, I think people are getting bent over by high pressure salespeople.

No, I agree, that's why I want to lease as well.

My point is that a whole heck of a lot of people are getting very poor leases.

I understand depricating asset, but what do you do in the case of an e93? Mine is going to be around 60k total with taxes..But my 0 down lease comes out to 1044 and financing it at 1250...Tough Call...MF sucks on this whip

Some people aren't putting any cash down and not paying any security deposit. And the dealers I've talked to raise their MF if you don't put down a security deposit.

Exactly.

But it's great on the e92.

I did not pay a security deposit. And I still got the buy rate.

Purchase price for me was 1k off msrp. Something like 49,100.

I didn't pay a cap cost reduction and I rolled my taxes in. The only thing I paid when I took my car was the Aquisition fee of 625 and couple hundred for registration and tags.

I am paying 720 + Tax for a 24 month lease with 10k miles per year.

E93 is a different story. There is NO lease incentive on the car whatsoever. It's a better idea to buy a 335 than lease one at this time.

Can a dealer charge a different money factor than what is quoted by BMWFS? It looks like the current MF on a 36mo lease on an E93 is .00310.

49,100? That must be completely loaded. All options?

Ouch $3,559 drive off? You can get $490/mo with $1,300 drive off for the same base step only car.

A) I know you.

B) My car was $49k when built to my specs. I'm only giving the dealer about $1,200 at signing, and my payments are $714.00.

My exact order.

The way I see it, I can drive myself, so the first three are worthless, and the last is just silly.

If you afre getting a tint, no need for sunshades.

I'd have gotten PDC if it was front & rear, but truth is, it's not really necessary. Active C and Active S...if you see a need for these, BMW just isn't you brand(not that there is anything wrong with that)

The BMW site says you have to put a down... that's what accounts for the low payment.
