Floor mats

Morning,

Dealer is giving me a choice: OEM rubber mats or regular. Any suggestions? Should I get just the factory OEM and get something for the winter like Weather Tech?

thanks

I have OEM rubber mats for summer driving (good for rain). Then I put separate winter mats on top.

For me, I find the carpet ones look so much nicer and are easier to keep clean than rubber ones for day to day. ONE wet footprint on rubber ones = having to clean with water, and looking dirty and bad until you do. Carpet, you just shake out or brush and they look good.

I use a rubber one in REALLY bad wet/snowy weather, then throw it in the garage.

Ask for BMW Premium mats...thick like the weathertech, has the pants saver feature... and as a bonus, has the BMW stamped into it, made by weathertech.

Autohaus has them for 15% off.

$137 regular

don't get the original rubber mats, too thin and they suck.

OEM rubber mats for summer, slush mats for the winter. The OEM rubber mats aren't very big so they're no good for the winter.

Gotcha. It just sounded a little funny at first read.

+1 I use the Weathertech lasers for winter, BMW carpets for summer. yeah the carpets need more attention but rubber mats don't have the same class IMHO.

One caveat with the lasers - the front passenger tub doesn't go all the way up the firewall. I put a BMW rubber mat on top of the weathertechs just on that side during the winter.

Why can't Weathertech modify the design so that the passenger side mat gives more protection to the firewall carpet? I was disappointed with the flaw and sent back the set that I ordered.
