Macht Schnell drop in panel filter?
Anyone using this filter? Any difference whatsoever? I can't justify getting a DCI with the brutal Texas heat.
Thank you! |

Better than OEM and DCI's when heat soaked. Your butt dyno won't notice as the gains are minimal at best but at least you get consistant pulls, unlike the DCI's

As far as I'm aware,t eh Macht Schnell filter is produced by S&B Filters, and is the same filter as the one sold by BMS, however the BMS filter is $30 cheaper (and oh no, you get a different color oil LOL). Just a pointer.
I enjoyed my drop-in from Helene, and I believe S&B manufactured that filter as well. I dynoed an 8 hp and 9 lb/ft gain, and people will argue it, but it flows better than the stock filter and gives a little more noise and responsiveness.

I tried the ITG filter (until I find a properly shielded DCI) and it works well. I was surprised by the small power gain.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but.....I did a search to see if anyone had the same issue....I have the MS drop and it was fine, or so I thought, months later I decided to start the build on my version of the Mr. 5 intake, opened up the hood, and it was tough to pulled the cover off the intake box, turns out the MS filter gasket material had begun to melt there was barely enough material left to hold the filter in place, I was able to peel away the melted material and pop my stock panel back in, the MS gasket is far more soft and plyable compared to a stock, K/N uses a similar "harder" gasket material.....I still have what was left and will take some pics when I get home.....after a few web searches, Ive found that this was not an isolated incident....pics to come
