Beat a Z06 at what?

Street light racing? Then you probably should get a slower car, a Toyota Echo should suffice.

Autocross/Track? Invest some money here first, I guarentee you will shave more seconds off your times than you would by simply buying a more "powerful" car: http://sportscardrivingexperience.ne...-training.html

lol no, but I agree with his opinion, except I wouldn't even bother with an evo seeing as you can find a used z06 for around 35-40k right now which is a ridiculously good deal. I wouldn't pass it up unless you decided to go the gtr route. if it's a weekend car you're seeking then the vette's subpar interior really shouldn't be a big deal.

what are you looking for though, outright speed or something that's fun to drive? are you just looking for something with street cred?

No doubt, a heck of a car. So far the 2012 #'s arent official. As of right now both the ZR1 and Z06(Z07 package) cars are faster on the Ring than the Nissan. Myself, when talking about 'fastest', I dont think about 0-60. Some others do though.

When I think about fastest I think about the whole deal. Faster on track, 0-60, 1/4 mile.

The video showed the 2012 GTR faster than the ZR1 on the track while motor trend confirmed that the GTR is faster than ZR1 on straights.

Who cares? Why do you guys always have dorky arguments about Nurburgring times and trash threads up?

Let's have a discussion about your estimated personal Nurburgring times in a ZR1 and GTR. My guess is a hair over 11 minutes in either car.

The average driver is going to be much faster in the GTR versus trying to maneuver a 700hp rwd car through a road course.

But back to topic, the guy only cares about going straight. The GTR seems like the best choice either way.

Very true, it takes a very skilled driver to drive a Z06/ZR1 properly...

took the words right out of my mouth! plus you dont see NEAR as many of em as you do z06's (at least here) and if you arent a pro the power is much easier to handle than the z06.

yes speed street cred. Also to have decent interior. Not expecting german quality if the performance is exceptional

used z06 then put cam/heads/full exhaust. you wont be able to beat that for the money.

Dont want a corvette. WAY to common. I do realize that you cannot beat the some qualities of z06 but way to common as I mentioned. Will check gtr and cobb and hks seem perfect
