Aftermarket Sat-Nav - Best fit / performance
Getting a Sat-Nav and wonder hwats the best on the market, want camera / lazer detect also.
Plus which is best to fit in the E90 as i done want something stuck to the windscreen. I remeber a really smart one which someone attached to the middle vent opening and looked really neat. Please any pics of installs would be great. |

I would say TomTom, but then I've never used anything else! I don't have a lazer detector, but I use the Camera POIs from TomTom.
IMHO/from what I read by the time the detector has warned you, you've been got. Anyway, my TomTom runs on my XDA/Phone, so not really what you're after? This pic has the cradle on the far RHS: Brodit do lots of different mounts for the e90, I've used both the right hand vent mount (which I have spare if you're interested) and the centre vent mount. Brodit do very good kit, I've never heard a bad word.

I am more than happy with a tomtom. May not always get the best ratings but the camera detector, weather, traffic and general functionality seem fair value to me. Like needforspeed I used an alternative mount in my E60 and it was fine and as you probably know you can get permanent kits too. Every time I use it, it downloads latest camera updates via my PDA and away you go. I can certainly say that the TomTom is much better than the latest Honda satnav (Alpine are the suppliers) in the wife's car.
