N52 Mystery Misfire

Got a misfire problem on my 2007 e92 328i. Changed all 6 coils, worked for a couple days, then misfired again. Now I'm reading a misfire in cylinders 4,5,6. Changed plug and coils. Any suggestions?
Intake and straight piped exhaust are the only mechanical mods.

Sounds like an Eccentric Shaft Position Sensor.

I'd take off the engine cover, unplug it and check to see if oil has found its way into the pins.

So i have 3 sets of ignition coils.
1) My oem ones with 101k
2) Used bosche with 32k
3) Brand new duralast set.
I changed spark plugs yesterday to a fresh set of bosches. My misfire comes and goes now. I used to have misfires in cylinders 4,5,6 but then at one point i was getting misfiring codes on 1,3,4,5,6 and now all of sudden its running good, i drove it for about an hour with no problem.. but as soon as i headed back towards home and i was a street away, SES light comes on and i get a code for cylinder 1 misfire. haha. I put some lucas fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank hopefully that helps. Im leaning to something fuel related maybe?

Is the car going into a limp mode when the SES light comes on? If it is, I also say check the Eccentric Shaft Sensor plug to see if any oil is in it.

Is there any oil in the spark plug holes? Has the valve cover gasket been changed or is it still original?

I'd take it to a shop and have them inspect it further before you throw more money at it.

What is interesting is cylinders 4, 5, and 6 are "Bank 2", so there may be a connection with that. Meaning some control of the Bank 2 cylinders, either electrical (coils) or fuel (fuel injectors) is intermittently failing. You can get misfires from the fuel preparation side too. Have you run a live scan on the engine to get a picture of how it is running?

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

02 sensors checked out good, coils are good, spark plugs are new. Ran fuel injector cleaner yesterday and the car kept a smooth idle. drove it, no problems. Just scared to push it cause it seems whenever i punch it, a cylinder fails and it throws SES and misfires.

Also, don't rely on the lever on the spark plug connector to seat the wire properly. After 9 years, this was the case, and my cylinder #4 misfire was due to a cable not pressed in all the way.

Might not be the issue, given that it is a whole bank, but it would be something to try
