Help: OK to run same tire sizes with mismatched tire brands or models?

I know our XI systems are sensitive to rolling diameter differences, etc. so I was wondering if running the same tire sizes but in different brands or models would be OK. For example, running three Continental 225/45/17s and one Bridgestone 225/45/17.

I ask because I currently have four 225/45/17 Continental DWS non-RFT tires on my car and would like to throw an old wheel with a 225/45/17 Continental ContiProContact RFT in my trunk for long trips as a spare. In the event of a flat, I could throw on the spare RFT so I could get to a tire shop, but I'd have mismatched tires on the car.

Does anyone know if this would be OK to do?

Diameter wise they are all 25". The difference will be in the tread depth but it is so small of a difference. If for emergency only and all the other tire pressures are ok then it shouldn't be a problem. Handling is a different story since the stiffness is different.

Thank you! It would only be for emergency use until I could make my way to a tire shop for repair or replacement.
