On the strip you shouldnt be speeding...but as far as i know it when you get into the field you could fuck around if cops pull you over it shouldnt be a big deal since its not in traffic....

Someone did get a ticket on the airstrip though. You just have to be careful.

Speeding over 120mph? I'm not sure. Brisk told me when I met up with him.
Brisk will know the exact details, since he was there to witness it. lol!

I got a ticket on the strip. I don't understand how so many people run on there regularly and have not been caught.

1st of Brisk wasn't there, I told Brisk the story, because it was me D3l0n & roller84 there. Roller & I were messing around he did 154 mph (procede) while i did 140 something! He won the race so he got the ticket, lol. ($150) Cop actually said that to him and told me and Delon to get the hell out of there, crazie ass day.
NO points since they weren't NYC cops but yes you will and can get a ticket in the back. Also we had a bigger meet there where we got kicked out because the E60 M5 guys were going crazie, lol. 178mph in the back with my boy Andrew!! M5's are a whole other league men. D3l0n, Simple1 & Roller84 Meet M5 Meet

Floyd Bennet is tricky these days.
I also live 5 min away (old mill basin). Used to go there all the time to race and just do high speed runs on the abandoned airstrip. Things got much worse since aviator opened up there. There is a strict 25 mph speed limit now on the road that leads to aviator and the airstrip. From what I understand you can still speed on the strip but nowhere else. I havent gotten pulled on the strip but i did get a ticket for goin 28 mph right by aviator!!

I find this interesting that people got speeding ticket in an airstrip. What law did they cite, since an airstrip is not a regulated road I can not see how they can write a ticket. What jurisdiction do they have on a airstrip, who owns the property. I think you guys need to research the law here, because most speeding laws define what a road is and I would argue that an airstrip does not meet the definition.
I am curious to hear the details behind the law they are using to give people tickets Last edited by Maestro; 10-22-2007 at 07:48 PM.. |

I live upstate now, but was born and raised in Bklyn. The good old days were racing at fountain ave.I was there every friday and saturday night.I raced my 67 camarothere,my 69 chevelle,78 honda 750F SS,etc. From there we would go meet at goldies diner and race, and watch the big money races on S. Conduit Ave.Anyone remember those days?

I've been there this Sunday and the longest airstrip is now completely blocked off.
The only place to really speed is the entrance road, all others are either too short or surface does not allow speeds higher then 70 mph
