Fidelity Motor Group?
Has anyone dealt with / heard about these guys? I'm thinking about picking up a 335i from up there and would like to know the background. If anyone on here is by chance from around the barrington area, it would be much appreciated if you could stop by the lot and have a look at the car I'm looking at.
Please let me know anything you have on it Thanks Sep A hopeful bimmer owner |

My brother-in-law's company is located a block away from there. I've never personally dealt with Fidelity Motors, but that doesn't mean much. They are fairly new to that location and from what I've heard, they specialize in mostly upscale vehicles. If you're not from the Chicagoland area, Barrington is one of the ritziest suburbs in the northwest suburbs. Lots of current and former Fortune 500 CEO's live in the area.
All that to say, it's not a questionable area- lots of money in these parts. Do you have a link to the 335 you're looking at? |

I've never been there either but drive by all the time. Have not heard anything good but then again I only spoke to one of their competitors. They used to be located in Palatine at the current Vicari autohaus location. Dont know if they are connected either. Just to be safe ask if you can take the car to Motorwerks in Barrington for a PPI. GL.

I went there to look at a couple cars. Seemed like an ok place. People were pretty nice overall, though one or two seemed a little shady (typical used car sale). They have a wonderful selection of high end cars. I test drove a 335 coupe and a 535 and both were in decent shape. However, I did notice that they each had a couple weird small probs (one cupholder didn't open, a seatbelt issue on the coupe, etc). They were supposed to call me when an incoming vehicle came in, but never did. This was all a month ago.
That's about the extent of my experience there. |

I live five minutes from there and I always see cars that I would like to take a look at. I have heard nothing but bad things about their sales practices... but that's all been internet reviews. No one I know personally.
http://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Fi...w-39539/page3/ If I was to buy from a dealer like that, I would go to Diamond Motorworks in Naperville. A friend of mine bought an excellent condition M3 and the guys there were down to earth. They didn't make you feel like you were shopping in a dirt mall. When I was there they have a covered semi to deliver cars sold on ebay. They had nice AMG's being shipped out and their prices are decent unlike Motorworks. Their bbb.org rating is an "A" which for what it is worth, makes me feel better. But I would agree, any car you look at, take it to MotorWorks to be checked out. |
