aftermarket exhaust
hey all, i have discovered a vid with a supersprint exhaust system inc dpf removal pipe,
i know in this vid the car is an audi, but im thinking both vehicles use a 3.0 v6, would it not be possible to also achieve similar results on the 335d? this vid shows a 535d with a system im not sure of. what do you guys think? |

haha ye, im been quoted near £1500 for a full system inc cat and dpf+mapped, just trying add up some figures for a supersprint system itself though, il be most happy if can get similar sounding.

oh ok lol, both 6cyc engines then but would being an l6 rather than v6 affect sound output much? the bmw engine is nice sounding around 3k revs up so hoping can get similar.

I am going to look into this entire system for my 335d wagon. My question is will I be able to use the stock catalytic convertors?

It's going to take more than just removing the DPF on a US spec car to get anywhere near that kind of sound. That means removing all cats too and unless you can find a work-around of the DEF system you are not likely going to be able to remove the cats.

not sure how it would affect us spec cars, give supersprint a buzz, in regard to the cat the pipes can fit but in the vid both cats and dpf are removed, in the uk this is still passing mot tests so unsure with other euro countries.
for a full system it seems to be roughly 1800-2000 euros, thats both rear mufflers, downpipes and the centre pipes ( x2 ) |

I just removed my mufflers and put in a straight pipe. made basically no sound difference too.

ye iv been told just replacing back boxes wont do much, basically need cats and dpf out for any decent sound to be effective, both cars in vid have had this done. system iv ordered is the front y pipe, 2 centre pipes and two racing rear mufflers, for the dpf the company im speaking to are saying they just remove the core and reseal the original piping, stress test it and then retune the ecu to remove regen cycle, im just asking them as my car is currently remapped if that will be lost and what happens if bmw flash the ecu in services or so iv heard they do.

fitted the system today, was expecting to be no effect tbh with everyone saying dpf needs removing for decent sound but in all fairness it has a growl to it at low revs, higher revs doesnt seem any different atm. fitted all perfectly as well.

Dude, you've got to give us more info than this. What did this end up costing you? Does the car feel faster, smoother? Is it really that more of a noticeable "growl" as you mentioned? Any videos or sound clips you can post? Come on....give us some more details buddy.
