I guess it's all about where you live. In my town 335's outnumber 328's ... looks like almost 2-1.

Check out this forum's FSBO threads ... it's chock full of 335's.

yeah, anecdotally, I see far more 328i's than 335i's.

I don't get how a 5 year old 335i is only worth $6k private party - I sold our 2006 E91 with ~125k miles for $10,500 - could have probably asked more but we wanted to sell it fast (it took 5 days).

I haven't checked the for sale section, but I don't think that would be a fair indicator as well. This site is aimed towards enthusiasts who modify their car and that demographic is predominantly 335 owners.

2006 BMW E91  [0.00]
Value coming back? No. I like to ignore this fact as I continue to dump more and more $$$ into my E92.

The pre lci n54s are the best bang for your buck on the market performance wise. If you aren't handy I wouldn't buy one. Maintenance, even if you are handy, can and will add up over time.

That being said, I would never buy that e9X NA engine again. What a fucking dog. Slowest car I think I ever owned. If it was not the slowest, it sure felt like it. That being said, never had any maintenance issues.

... ... ...

Gotta give ya a rep just for the vocab.

And yes, my posting came from anecdotal observations. As well as, when I was searching for a BMW this past year. It seems around my area of FL 335's rule the land (most are LCI years). It's almost a tossup as far as coupe vs sedan. And regardless of age demographic.

When I sold the car it was 9 years old , had 144k, was montego blue(which means it is not the desirable alpine white or jet black,) and was a 6MT(which we know many people in densely populated areas, are shying away from.) I also had it priced low for a quick sale. Having 4 cars in front of my place was not sitting well with the neighbors.

In fact I am sure it was just disconnected and not broken but the dealership wanted to replace the entire thing)

Replace all four run flat tires to regular tires - $600 + $300 for trunk spare with jack and parts.

UPCOMING THINGS -

main engine oil gasket looks like it is leaking - $1,000+ may try to DIY since it is on top.

battery keeps depleting for unknown reasons - $$$$ (dealership checked everything to be fine).
Ok, tires don't count. The OFHG is like a $50 job and I know you have the know-how to do it in 30 minutes. The pain of actually taking the car to the dealer exceeds doing this one yourself, IMO.

I disabled my headlamp jets as I felt like all they did was make the car look dirty. You use them I take it?

My battery depleted every so often - mostly when I go camping and leave the lights on for extended periods. Maybe yours was replaced and never registered?

Maybe even 2006 330 in the states might.
But the standard e90 wont. If anything it?ll keep dropping since the n54 is notorious for its issues. And the f30 is and the next 3 series will be faster and more reliable. Really nothing unique about an e90 335 anymore considering everything coming after it is exactly the same set up.
Just picked up a 2006 330 for this very reason. Last of the more powerful inline 6 NA motors from BMW. Even if it doesn't increase in value, it's a perfect balance of power, chassis, and reliability.

I agree. It?s a fantastic car. I?d trade my 328 in for it but it doesn?t make any sense at this point for an extra 25 hp

BMW Tourings are kind of a niche market.

I've toyed with the idea of an E30 Touring -- now that they are old enough that Big Brother allows us to import them -- but I think that there is much more value in an E91.

Recent buyer of a 330i here myself. If I could find an E91 with a manual, I'd be all over that. As far as value goes, my 2007 VW rabbit that I sold had a higher book value than the '06 BMW 330i lol. The BMW did sell for slightly more however.

Yes it is. Understood, that is still a huge difference though.

You don't know how much I hate that!

We are looking to MOVE OUT of my neighborhood now (North Yonkers) because of the freaking car park in front of everyone's home. Kids in Yonkers (and most of middle class America) don't move out anymore or go away to college anymore. They stay home, don't work and everyone has freaking cars perpetually parked in front of the house with like only one car going out daily for the one person that works in that household!

Picture below show the average house in Yonkers at any given time of the weekday, week night and weekends!

I think people that keep junked and/or permanently parked cars in front of their homes on driveways and lawns think this is what they have:

My wife occasionally accuses me of running a used car lot out of our house, or at least making it look that way
