Passenger Interior Door Replacement

So as usual the material on the passenger interior door handle was nice and melted when I bought the car. I finally got around to getting the part, which btw has the same soft material as the old one. Guess I will be doing this again in a couple of years.

Anyways, I take off the door panel and I can't believe how idiotic BMW was in choosing how to attach the inner door handle. I mean it never crossed their minds this part may need replacing. To use melted plastic is ridiculous. So now I have to figure out how to melt the new one on or find an alternative means of installing it. All I can do is shake my head.

Glue gun will not hold. Cut the posts off the new handle, flush with the door panel. Drill the posts out and screw them on. Here's a pic of the technique on the seat-back netting.
