Passenger Interior Door Replacement
So as usual the material on the passenger interior door handle was nice and melted when I bought the car. I finally got around to getting the part, which btw has the same soft material as the old one. Guess I will be doing this again in a couple of years.
Anyways, I take off the door panel and I can't believe how idiotic BMW was in choosing how to attach the inner door handle. I mean it never crossed their minds this part may need replacing. To use melted plastic is ridiculous. So now I have to figure out how to melt the new one on or find an alternative means of installing it. All I can do is shake my head. |

Glue gun will not hold. Cut the posts off the new handle, flush with the door panel. Drill the posts out and screw them on. Here's a pic of the technique on the seat-back netting.
