The auto tuning can only make adjustments based on sensor readings. It will not be able to tell what mods you have like turbo upgrades, FMIC,DCI... Ect. It will be able to reduce ignition correction to be more aggressive if say the ambient temp drops or you fill up with 100 octane.

Shiv, why did the aggression level rise to 6 on the first run and it took 2 wide open throotles to get back to 6 again after meth was turned off?

Because we've designed the system to take in a certain number of samples before it updates the value. Reducing the number of required samples would make the system faster to respond but also more unstable.

There's really no reason to have it respond any faster. The datalog posted just shows an extreme example Something that wouldn't even happen in the first place.

Got it.
But why would then it ramp up to 6 on the first run, when it needs certain number of samples?
Does the Procede needs certain #'s of samples after the first heavy load run, or does it need it all the time?

It only samples when it can deduce knock activity (or lack thereof). Which means it only samples under load.

So let me ask a somewhat stupid question:

How close is Proceed tune + autotuning + planned future features to having a complete standalone engine management?

That, ultimately will be the best since you won't have DME interfering with the engine management...

The 2nd question is this. If someone decides that they only want to run 12psi, but are modded enough to support 15psi with an agressvieness of 2-3. Can the proceed add ignition timing above what the DME is requesting, and effectively run a low boost/high timing race map. Effectively increasing DME timing request to the point that the the tune is running an aggressiveness of 2-3 even at the low boost level.
I'm interested as well.

From most of the runs I've done, any progressive level below 3.0 seem to me smooth. Anything above that seem to be induce knock on my datalogs. Will there be a cap for us users to enter a maximum "Peak Aggression level" on Auto-Tune? So instead of the Procede waiting for it to detect Knock, have it it aim for a value of say "3.0" and then adjust from there if it detects any knock whatsoever. Obvious, you have to let the Procede adjust boost as well, but wouldn't this be an ultimate Autotune feature as we can just set a number instead of setting boost or ign to begin with.

That should be it. Shiv mentioned we'll be able to specify the aggressiveness desired and proceed takes care of the rest.

Shiv, you have something like this worked up for Launch Control or better?

Funny to see how to launch an X5 or X6 M:

1) When the vehicle is stationary with the engine running, step on the brake pedal.
2) With the transmission in M/S mode, shift into M1
3) Activate MDM mode or deactivate DSC Dynamic Stability Control, refer to page 21.
4) Select the "Sport" program for the M Engine dynamics control.
5) Floor the accelerator pedal completely. The engine speed is controlled for starting off. The flag symbol appears in the instrument panel.
6) When the brake pedal is released, the vehicle accelerates. Continue flooring the accelerator pedal.
7) Upshifting occurs automatically as long as the accelerator pedal remains completely floored.

You pretty much launch a Procede tuned car the same way, only thing is that you let go around 2500RPM.
Launch an N54 Automatic Procede tuned:

1) When the vehicle is stationary with the engine running, step on the brake pedal.
2) With the transmission in M/S mode, shift into M1
3) Deactivate DSC Dynamic Stability Control.
4) Floor the accelerator pedal completely.
6) Accelerate RPM to 2500RPM and then release the brake pedal, the vehicle will accelerate. Continue flooring the accelerator pedal.
7) Upshifting occurs automatically as long as the accelerator pedal remains completely floored.

Just read of a 1er doing 11.1

and that would be sick to have a Launch Control function Shiv

That's with about 100whp worth of nitrous. Doesn't say much about the tune because nitrous is the "tune". After all, 200whp shot of nitrous with make a stock tune run 10s. And that wouldn't make a stock tune the quickest and fastest tune available?

At this point, any tune can increase pressure from the turbos and increase peak power. IMHO, now the war is all about who can deliver the most "driveable", safe tune and deliver the most features.
