some of the JB3 XI peak hp/tq numbers are a little optimistic due to measurment error/spikes logged during the run. Make sure you compare graphs and not possibly erroneous peak hp numbers **
***** some people were wondering about their "best runs" that I "didn't post". What happened was: throughout the day George had his software set to uncorrected. So a lot of the numbers people were reading off the screen were higher than the corrected numbers... (for instance my uncorrected numbers were 411awhp/413awtq). With everything STD corrected the numbers are different than you remember. - Temps were warm (compared to the past few days), around 55° - 65° today. - This was an AWD dynojet. - All cars were on 93octane (unless noted) - A good "air mover" fan, compact but very strong. Results (from low to high): Stock 335xi - 278awhp / 287awtq (this was from another day, same dyno) Stock 335i - 284rwhp / 293rwtq Stock s54 M Coupe - 290rwhp / 244rwtq 335xi - SSTT - 309awhp / 326awtq 335xi - Dinan Stg. 2, Dinan Exhaust - 319awhp / 348awtq 335i - AA Processor, K&N Drop In - 326rwhp / 348rwtq 335i - Helix Attaché - 339rwhp / 360rwtq 335xi manual, pre-29.2 - JB3 1.1 - 340awhp / 344awtq 135i - Custom tuned Dinan flash, Riss Racing Intake (something weird happening) - 348rwhp / 381rwtq 335xi auto, 29.2 - JB3 1.1v, Dual Cone Intake - 353awhp / 351awtq 335i manual, 29.2 - JB3 1.0v, Helene Drop in - 362rwhp / 356rwtq 335xi manual, pre-29.2 - PROcede V3.1 (race gas map), UR Catless Downpipes, AE Catless Exhaust, Dual Cone Intake, 104octane - 405awhp / 407awtq s52 MCoupe - twin gt28rs - 616rwhp / 535rwtq Graphs from High to low: s52 MCoupe - twin gt28rs 335xi - PROcede V3.1 (race gas map, 104octane) +UR Catless Downpipes + AE Catless Exhaust + Dual Cone Intake: 335i - JB3, Helene Drop In: 335xi - JB3, Dual Cone Intake: 135i - Custom Tuned Dinan Flash, Riss Racing Intake: 335xi - JB3: 335i - Helix Attaché: 335i - AA Processor, K&N Drop In: 335xi - Dinan Stg. 2 + Dinan Exhaust: 335xi - SSTT: Stock s54 M Coupe: Stock 335i: Stock 335xi: pics of the twin GT28rs mCoupe: Last edited by jpsimon; 01-18-2009 at 10:50 AM.. |

Nice work JPSimon
I will try to organize a west coast dyno day again in the coming month or so. Hopefully I can get 20 guys to commit and show up this time! |

yeah, i was wondering that the m coupes is super smooth.... some of the dynos have loops in them LOL and that Dinan 135i's torque takes a nose dive at around 6k no? strange sheets but great comparisons b/c of the same dyno/same day thing.

That's a bummer you had only one PROcede tuned car show up (yours)
Also, update this post and list whether the JB3 cars were version 1.0, 1.0v, 1.1, or 1.1v (the "v" after the version is the "doomsday" lower torque maps). Thanks |

It looks like the peak hp numbers from the JB3 XIs are overstated due to measurment error (the spike). The actual power output is about 15whp lower.
Not trying to cause a war. But this is why looking at graphs is more useful than looking at a numbers. Shiv |

What I really don't like about the spikes in the JB3 is that those are the ones that the dyno took as the max whp and wtq numbers.
If you look at the highest point of the curves, it seems that without the spikes it would be about 15 whp/wtq less than the max says. This is making the results much more optimistic than they really are. EDIT: I was writing this probably at the same time Shiv posted. Didn't mean to copy/past his response at all. |

Funny how your not trying to start a war, but you are attacking the numbers of a product that is your direct competition, too bad there werent any V3.1's down there on a stock car on 93. Then we could get a REAL good comparison...........so until then, I suggest you keep your comments to yourself before I start to report your posts, when you are REALLY trying to START arguements.........
