hariss ranch isn't doable i tihnk, not jsut the smell, but i seem to recall a lot of that [arking u see there is reserved for hotel guests

SLO is exactly ~3 hours from each. We just came back from Newport Beach via 101 and stopped in SLO for lunch. 6 hours total. We take the truck out and go camping in the dunes around Pismo Beach pretty often.

i think SLO may be better too, and it's pretty much in the middle. better scenery by the coast. i just don't know the area.
