To leave CSL trunk CF or paint on JB
I don't normally ask opinions on cosmetics. I usually agree with the people who tell others who come on here and ask what others think they should buy (wheels, etc.). So feel free to flame on, lol.
But I just got a CF 2X2 CSL trunklid. I WAS set on getting it painted (of course leaving the top edge CF). But now I'm thinking it might look good not painted. I've always thought big CF parts left unpainted look pretty rice. But I've joined the CF obsession lately. And since I have the Akyrm diffuser, maybe it will match good. Does anyone have a JB E92 with a CF trunk that I can see pics of? And what do you think? Maybe I'm just being impatient and don't want to spend the money on getting it painted...I don't know....

With Jet black or any type of black that matches the CF i think it is fine to leave unpainted. It looks ricy whenever it is like a white/silver car with CF fully exposed parts. The color clashing is what kills it. But black should be fine

Yeah and that's the only reason I'm even considering it. It's just so much easier for a shop to paint if it's off the car. And putting this thing on involves a lot of crap. So if I get it on, then decide to get it painted.....it would probably cost more.
I guess I could just do it and if it gets scratched...then that'll be an excuse to paint it.

Heres my thoughts. I had it non-painted on my Tiag for about a month. IT was too much contrast and looked rice. Then when i wrapped the car, the color was darker and the trunk didnt look all that bad. I decided to leave a lot of parts of the trunk exposed in the end and i love the look. Ive always been jealous of JB because you can blend CF in so subtly. In my opinion it looks awesome. My advice is to install it yourself (atleast test fit, it isnt hard) without any paint and see how it looks. maybe drive around with it for a week. Then decide. GL!

Hmmm...so you left just the top CF?
I LOVE the contrast of CF on Alpine White. Especially the CSL trunk painted with the edge. But the whole trunk would be too much. But on space grey it doesn't look bad. Beautiful car BTW and thanks for the pics and input. This is gonna be a tough decision this week...
