how to fix e92 rear view rattle?

I have a very annoying rattle/vibrating in my e92xi. I have narrowed it down to the rear view mirror, if I squeeze it, no rattle, if I don't, it rattles. Anyone have this issue? any fix suggestions?

This is a known problem. With all the xi's

Usually a Transfer case issue that radiate the rattle to the windshield mirror. No fix in sight since 2006 when it was first documented by @aflatau and @mjmarovi
