Man, that M3 cowl is pretty. I like it.

I've been running that air filter for several months as well. It's shown a bit of hp advantage using the Torque App measurements and also gave me a slightly faster trap speed in the 1/4 mile (110.2 mph) vs the OEM intake. Adds some sound too. To make it fit well on the MAF I used about 1/2" off the end of a 3"x3" rubber plumbing coupler for Lowe's to bridge the difference in diameter of the MAF housing and filter. Fits nice and tight with that rubber ring in there.

have you been popping any codes for yours? I get one when I mash it if its cold.

Haven't had any issues with that. Although, the MAF readings for the same type of driving conditions (steady stead or full throttle) are slightly different than with the OEM intake using the exact same MAF. So I could see how this might be a problem depending on individual vehicle/hardware differences.

The parts are on a 3 week back order so I haven't received anything but the filters yet. Also I only ordered one of the plastic bolts (PLASTIC BOLT $0.00 $0.60) because I was missing it from the factory setup.

Also I did not buy the rubber seal as they other thread says you can just re-use your old one. Here is the thread where I got the part numbers from, read the whole thing though theres different information throughout.

If you're anxious, you can install without these. These are the plastic covers that go over the Brake reservoir & piping and the ECU. One of these was on back order for me too.

Got it installed. Like it. Also removed the hard plastic battery cable cover that locks into the original cowl, which allows one to zip tie the flexible cable to the black brace bars.

According to my scale it's a ~5.5 lb weight savings.

I kid of course im doing it for the cleaner engine bay.

Well, the only thing clean in my redneck engine bay is the new cowl pieces ...

The temp probe wire is where I'm checking underhood temps for possible future catch can locations that can safely deal with the extreme winter temps we get in the midwest.

Normally I have the AEM filter in place instead of the OEM stock filter box, but I was checking MAF reading comparisons between the two for another question that came up in a different thread. By the way, the AEM filter saves a couple pounds as well over the OEM setup.

So, from a weight perspective, this weekend I chopped off ~33 lbs of rear weight from the rear mufflers and ~5.5 lbs for the front cowl replacement FormerRotor shared. Combining this with the ~5 lbs saving from the EGR cooler delete, ~2 lbs of DPF material delete, and the ~ 2 lbs with the AEM filter, but add back several pounds for the 2um fuel filter and water/methanol pump, that's about 43-44 lbs net loss from stock. If my car had a New Years weight loss resolution it would be doing OK.

Shoot that engine bay isn't to bad, Some degreaser, some washing and some shine and youd be all set.

Well that certainly looks much better I'll be happy when mine shows up. Should make cleaning the catch can easier. On a side note do you think the n55 version could mount closer for your needs?

So the M3 setup uses all oem, and the Burger filters you remove the tray and install their filters, how much and how long does the oem filter last if you just leave it as oem...as in stock form not M3
