Another thread on dropping tools into the engine bay
This time it is two small torx driver bits for my screwdriver set. I was tooling around with my OCC trying to loosen the baffle and *plink* *plunk* lost two bits into what sounded like a plastic floor under the front end. Guess I should just forget about them huh? |

Or buy one of those wands with a magnet at the end. They are cheap too.

Hey hey! Good call Eric. I found one at the bottom of the plastic panel that houses my intercooler. The other bit is still MIA, but it'll probably fly out during a spirited driving session

Yeah me too... I have dropped 2 tools, and one time when I upgraded my angel lights and removed the bottom corner plastic, the torx driver dropped down on the floor. There is another torx driver still somewhere down there but will not bother till I have to remove bottom plastic cover. Also, one time I dropped the BMW little flash light being ON and man I did not want leave it there so I grabbed a wire hanger and was able to reach down there I was so lucky.... Otherwise I would ve had tto remove cover... Cheers!!

LMAO @ S3RI35
Yea Joe, not too car savvy, and no lift to take said bottom plastic engine bay tray/weather liner off. Guess that's what got me into this mess in the first place. On a positive note, I can now change my OCC all by myself LOL |

I lost the bolt that aims my cheap depo headlights in the engine bay (and my car had a lazy eye without it) eventually i got so fed up i just took a dry vac with a long hose and started shoving it in places I couldn't reach or see. Actually worked, I was so relieved when I heard the clunk sound of the bolt going into the vac.

I was taking out my intake/exhaust solenoids yesterday and dropped one of the o-rings down between the pipes in the engine bay. I had to concoct a long hook made out of a paint stir stick. Needless to say I was relieved when I got it out of there.

Not a tool but here's my story
I was changing the filter to my intake one day and when I put it all back together I left my cellphone on top of my intake and drove around for at least an hour. When I got back home I was trying to find my phone, I remembered I left it inside my engine so I ran outside to my car and opened up my hood, there was my cellphone |
