Help: e92 extending seat belt arms no longer catching seat belt
My e92 extending seat belt arms stopped properly functioning a few months ago. Well, it doesn't seem like the arms themselves are at fault, but it looks more like the seat belts have lost their rigidity over time and as a result are slipping off the extending arms.
I've been to the dealer many times with this issue, and all they've told me is that I have the latest fix for the extending arms and there's nothing I can do. I recently came across another post with someone saying that they were able to have their seat belts replaced under warranty, but this was not offered to me as an option even per my request. Is this something that BMW should be covering under warranty? Has anyone else had luck with getting their seat belts replaced? |

It's not the motor. I wish I could just disable it, though, because this problem is really annoying... |

I notice if I twist the belt when I let go of it, the extender arm will not pick it up. Make sure when you let go of the buckle to get out of the car that you do not twist if.
If the belt has lost rigidity, then will need something to stiffen it back up again I guess, or replace it. One other thing I guess we in the coupes get to look forward too at higher mileage. |

Easy fix! At the end of the arm there's a part that pivots out or is supposed to.. Mine didn't work after replacing the body control unit. After I replaced the faulty computer module I had to get the dealer to reprogram the car. After the reprogram the seat belt assist arms weren't popping that end piece of the seat belt assist arm out to catch the seat belt. Well after sticking my finger under what feels like a release catch near the end of the arm the end catch swung open the next time I tried it. Repeated on the passenger side and both are now operational again!

Dealer replaced both of my seatbelts and one of the arms but not CPO still factory warranty. Like Kamek said its due to the rigity of the belt.

If it's the spring arms, just grab new ones, pretty easy to pop out and replace. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/72117330781/ https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/72117330782/ |
