I would assume if the letter had gone out, the computer would know. Watch me get the notice in a month.... |

Got mine done yesterday. Got a loaner for the night and my battery still seems to be fine. So far so good.

Alright fellas, here is my story with the recall,
About 2 weeks ago, while driving, my car started shaking and the rpm gauge started jumping up and down, engine was choking, unabled to accelerate, lucky enough I was able to pull over to a near by shopping center. Immediately I shut down the car, waited about a minute and started back up. It started right up, but when I started driving again, everything comes back again, scared the shit out of me, (for the second time). At this time, I did not know anything about the recall. After that, the problem getting worse and worse within 2-3 days, l didn't have time to take it to BMM due to work schedule. Long story short, I finally took it to BMW and described to the SA about the problem, tSA said there is a recall on the B+ terminal and will replace it and that should fixes the problem. At this time, I still did not see any recall letter or know anything about the recall. I did not get any error/warning light on the dashboard like some of the members here, absolutely nothing. After BMW replaced the cable with part # 61-12-9-312-133, the next day, the car was doing the same exact thing again, but this time it's not as bad, so l was thinking I should drive it some more for everything to be reset, but no, the car is worse for the last 2 days, I almost got rear ended a few times and almost got t-bone a few other times. I'm taking the car back to BMW tomorrow and the SA told me there will be a cost of $141 to look at my car. My car is a 2008 328i E92 with only 55,000 miles with no modifications!! I hope I will get a good technician, that can find out the real problem because I have read so many bad experience with BMW dealerships on this board. I will keep you guys updated. Ryan |

Just got the recall work done yesterday here in Toronto.
Went to BMW Autohaus and for everyone in the GTA (Canada): STAY AWAY FROM AUTOHAUS in Thornhill . There has been much talk about that dealership and although I had read/heard some bad reviews I went there because it was the only dealer that could do the repair this week. Thankfully I had read this thread and knew what to look out for (Thanks ). Basically, I dropped off my car at 9am and got a call at 1 saying it will be ready by 2pm. I went and picked up my car only to find out that the area around the glovesbox and the glovesbox itself were dirty (black stains as if the technician used his dirty hands). You could really see the stains on my car as it has a beige interior. So I went and told my service adviser about the situation and got some cleaner and cloth to clean the area. While cleaning the affected areas the trim of my cupholders POPPED out and refused to go back in which made me notice that my left cup holder was stuck inside. I called my adviser and got him to go investigate. Apparently, my cup holder was stuck to the cable that had just been replaced. Without a single apology they fixed it again and gave the car back. I could NOT believe the quality of the service received. I even noticed that they failed to set my car clock time properly!! These may not look like such big deals but they are def not the sort of things you'd expect from BMW dealers. It is like they do not give a single f*ck about your car!! |

Recall was done on my car this morning. Took 2 hours including a full car wash and vacuum. I uninstalled the Cobb tune before I went in.
Everything was okay coming out and the clock was fine. |

I didn't know there would be a car wash (first time to a bmw dealer). I wish I would have known so I could have said no. Oh well...

scary situation
pass the shock of my life on the road, the car E90-328i-2007, I was driving at 80 miles I turn loses power, as if he had no battery, when you want to return the energy and car starts normal without any error report. . and when it occurs it is dead .... the scanner does not report failures ... until I read this problem with the battery B + cable .... I decided to check it out and ... the pictures speak for themselves ..
