iDrive knob 'enter/select' not working

Today while removing the center console I pulled on the iDrive knob
and now when I press it for the 'enter/select' function it has no effect anymore ..

I know, I should not have pulled the knob...

All other functionality on it works, just the pressing it to select menu item doesn't ...

This knob is the 'fancy' one with the individual buttons for radio/nav/option/back etc on the 2009 328i

what do you think, repairable or will I have to replace the whole controller ?

I have similar problems with the "enter" function on mine. It only works sometimes and only for a short while.

Did you solve your problem?
