FS: N52 DISA Valves
Lower (smaller) DISA-$120 (good working condition- see video for tightness. Slight gasket wear, but should still seal fine) Upper (larger) DISA- $75 (This appears to be fairly loose and I would guess it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. GAS will be offering the rebuild service soon for $150. This would be good to send out for rebuild to have less downtime. Otherwise you can find new ones for $120 or so. Lower DISA video: as you can see, its nice and tight still. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...211_190231.mp4 Upper DISA video: clearly there is some play, unsure of functional condition. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...211_190337.mp4 Last edited by Big_CG; 12-28-2014 at 07:19 PM.. |

Bump up for you
I have the 3 stage on my 3 series, always wondered why the 5 series has the heat sink to cool the air charge on certain cylinders while the 3 series does not

Thanks man.
Yeah, the update in 2011 was to equalize the cylinder temps. 2 and 4 get warmer because that DISA path is open more frequently and more air friction would exist there. In theory it should increase power and reduce chance of warping the IM. |

Yeah, hard to say. The rated power differences from BMW are skewed by the tuning, emissions requirements, marketing, etc. My guess is it would be marginal if anything.
But then again, there was a reason they went to the effort of re-tooling, adding 5 new part numbers, and complicating the assembly. |
