Always annoyed me when the wheel badges were at different angles, soon outgrew that one though.

Not bothered about the temperatures - if it isn't warm enough I'll turn it up as high as it needs to be to get me warm! Temperatures need to be the same if I'm alone in the car, not necessarily so if I have a passenger (that its the point of dual climate, afterall).
I did have the 'even' thing about volume but the Merc doesn't put a number to the volume. My biggest OCD is about the position and level the vents point at. They all have a specific direction and level to point at and it annoys me if someone gets in my car and starts fucking with the vents on 'their' side.

Dude, you're 10 minutes up the road, we can go out for a tear-up whenever you like! As long as you don't touch the vents, ok?!

Yes, yes, yes! I'm bathing in a sea of OCD!
No numbers on the BMW volume control. I have to drive my wife's VW to get my fix. Quote:
Obviously. Too much disturbance in The Force if they're not right. The most annoying thing. Who the fuck messes with a man's air vents? I'll tell you who. A female. Or even worse a male who doesn't really 'do' cars. Freaks. |

for me it's mainly
- things have to generally be symmetrical or perpendicular to angles and equal distance from edge on 2 or more sides - volume has to be even then just little things like - always finish a job if you start it - inefficiency at work drives me absolutely bonkers (some complete cretin could spend an entire day manually doing something that could be done in minutes with about 30 mins of original thought or a bit of programming). - shoes not lined up - always put things in the same place Dont think it's really out of the ordinary, just a personality trait, very high attention to detail. My wife on the other hand is a complete scatter brain and jumps into everything two feet first. Good at what she does tho. Neither way is the right way, neither personality is "normal" nobody is normal. |

With the BMW (the Merc doesn't have extendable squabs) I was the opposite in that they both had to be extended - my mrs would always push 'hers' in, when she got in the car and the first thing I'd do (well, second, after re-aligning the vents) was extend the squab again!
I've had a conversation about this many time with friends. Everyone has OCD to some degree. We might not all be afflicted to the point we wash our hands 200 times a day or fuck around with a light switch for 15 minutes before leaving the room, but there are always things every single one of us are particular to the point of obsessive about, which is what OCD is (albeit our obsessions aren't dibilitating).

It would be like a Guy getting in the car,and immediately fiddling with your meat and 2 veg. Good manners and decorum would dictate a time lapse of at least 30 seconds from the time the passenger door closed

Ha, well. Almost the same.
If a guy gets into my car and starts cupping my junk, I'd be happier if he just adjusted the vents. Mind you, if a girl (my wife of course) gets in and starts grabbing, then the vents can twiddle their damn selves!!

Everything in my life has a particular way it should be. Does my wife's head in because she is the exact opposite, no order or routine.
My most peculiar habit is that I count stuff over and over again. I count the number of lamposts between junctions every morning, I count the number of stairs in the house, the number of railings outside work etc even though I know they will be the same every time. I also count things like number of footsteps from the house to the car (28) and make sure that I always take the same number. It's not OCD though as I don't think anything awful will happen if I'm a footstep short. |

Jesus...don't get me started. I have read so much in the above that I can relate to....
Headrests Vents Equal temps Seat positions and supports (I have to periodically deflate and inflate the lumber nd side supports just so I know they're OK!) To add.... No mess or dirty carpets Worn or shiny steering wheels are a no no (I have to replace....my SLS wheel is just in the acceptable side of OK) Then..... Theres the stuff in the house! |

Slightly off topic, well actually i dont suppose it is. What is the furthest distance you have driven from your house when that "did i lock the front door" devil pops into your head one last time and you have to go back?
