Hello,
So after day and day of research on the site and forum, I have some question for you. What car I choose between the 335XI or the 328XI? When I mean the 335XI I mean the 2009 and above(with the N55), this engine (by my research) have a better maintenance than the n54 and by youtube video sound (muffler delete(legal?))GORGEOUS(the n54 to but I prefer the N55)! But but but... I learn on the forum... and a 335i is a 335i! You need to take a lot of money for the maintenance.(What is the price of the highest reparations the car need frequently or for is day drive? Can I do it ? ) So i consider a 328i(07-09 ? or 09-12 ?) to! I don't want a 500hp beast... I just want a good looking car, with good interior, sound great and a decent performance!(If I have the choice between a GT-R nismo and a Lamborghini Gallardo spyder, I take the spyder ! I don't want to take my phone and open the chrono for a 0-60 or for the track... I need pleasure when I drive. So my question is... A 328XI or 328i can give me pleasure like a 335I? (I know the answer is no but with a good exhaust, paddle on the wheel?) I will do track 1 time per year max (track kill a car) I live in Chicoutimi(Canada, Quebec)(lot of snow every day) and I see a 328 without xdrive but never see a 335i, so can I drive in the snow with good tires without Xdrive? And you think a 328 will live with a good maintenance more than a 335i, or when the maintenance is okay all have the same lifetime? Thanks for answer I forget I have 12 000CAD for it and can go to 16 000CAD max Last edited by Chabsun; 02-09-2017 at 12:07 PM.. |

So the n54 engine was offered by bmw from 2007-2010 so since your looking for a n55 you should get one 2011 or newer but its gunna be more than 16000 cad for one thats in good condition. Just get the 2007-2013 328i as its gunna be cheaper to maintain and as long as you have good winter tires you should be fine in winter without xdrive.

If you don't care about power and want the most reliability out of your car and maybe a track day or 2.
Go with 328 all day it'll also end up costing less to maintain in the long run. |
