Tire sizing question on 162's

I am debating between two sets of tires for my 162's. First of all, I do need an all season performance tire. Virginia does not have bad enough winters to warrant a dedicated winter wheel/tire setup, but I do need to get around in codler and possibly snowy conditions (very rarely, but it does happen).

Here are the two tires Im down to...

Falken Ziex ZE512's.

Pros - Good price on them, good rim protection, exact tire sizes I need (225/40's and 255/35's on 18 inch rims)

Cons - I have heard they are pretty loud tires after a few thousand miles, Im afraid that cheap price means cheap performance.

Toyo Proxes 4's

Pros - Good reviews, not that much more pricey, more respected tire brand...

Cons - I cant get the exact tire sizes I need. I can get the 225/40's, but the only thing I can get close for the rears are 245/40's.

I would like to lean towards the Toyo tires, but not getting the right size for the rear has me questioning... First of all, I am losing cross sectional width. I dont like the fact that I would be putting less rubber on the road than what I currently have. I used the calculator, and it says my speedo will only read 62 while Iam traveling 60 (which isnt too bad).

Would there be any other problems with those rear tires and that size???

Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

By the way... I would like for these tires to last me a while. This will end up being the 4th set of tires I have had on my E90 in a little over a year.

I dont want to buy tires for a long time (so no pressure on my decision )

I'm in the same predicament. I was thinking the Pirelli PZero Nero's until yesterday.

Can't you go one size up (as in wider) on the rears?

the two sizes other than what I have listed are 255/45 and 275/35

I think the 275 would be too big of a jump from the 255/35's... Plus that would mean some meaty tires in the back. I dont even think those would fit an 8.5 inch wide rim...

The 255/45 would give me a much greater sidewall, and some serious speedo problems (4mph off or so)
