Which NGK spark plug is better/correct?
I went on NGKs website to see which one I needed to purchase for my car. I have a E92 328i and the site gave me two products:
#ILZFR6D11 and #LFR6AIX-11 Which one is more suitable for my car? |

If you go to RealOEM
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...17&hg=12&fg=05 you'll see that the ILZFR6D11 plug was ended by BMW in 2007, it's replacement PLZFR6A11S (the plug I'm running) was ended in 2009. Current part: NGK LZFR6AP11GS from 12/2009 BMW part 12120037663 Last edited by AlanAZ; 06-25-2011 at 11:19 AM.. |

So is there any downside to using the old plugs? like the old ILZ? Cause im doing my plugs soon and im starting to get confused. Rockauto.com has the old ILZ for 9.96 a plug.

Updated plugs provide a more powerful spark, which translates into slightly better performance and fuel economy. When I put in an updated plug, I noticed a bit more mid-range power.

I just got my plugs from the same site and they had the PLZFR6A11S for 9.xx a plug too. Are they out of them?

Just looked again and the only NGK plug they still show is the ILZFR6D11 for 9.96. I guess they must be out of the PLZ. Great so old model plugs are going to suck

I doubt they are going to suck, per se. The ones I replaced were the previous model that you found, and honestly I can't tell any difference in performance and my old plugs were stock as far as I could tell. (63xxx miles) I also did all new coils at the same time so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I see... Im still on my original coils; being at 47k rpm... So ILZ should work just fine I guess.
Should have went for PLZ tho... Oh well...

i have a 325 so should i get the PLZFR6A11S?
where can i find these for cheapest price? isnt PLZFR6A11S the same as ngk #5987??? i got info from a ebay item.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NGK-5...a#ht_918wt_856 if it is then advance auto parts have them and they always have 40% off, making the plug under $8 can anyone confirm if ngk 5987 is the right plug? Here's what my realoem part listing is for 325 plugs. No active part numbers so that's where I got confused and ended up ordering wrong plugs.
