Another 335i down....
I was going straight and this 16 year old chick in an IS350 decides to make a last minute left turn. I hit her rear quarter panel and wheels.
Here's the Aftermath. I didn't try to start the car because the fan assemble is pushed in. Sorry for the bad pics. It was off a phone. Fans gone. Right after it happened. Bent crash bar Last edited by BMW_TT; 09-22-2008 at 05:40 PM.. |

No offense to the OP or BMW, but the airbags deployed for this???
Unless the damage extends to the doors, roof, I don't think this '08 is totaled. I hope the IS350 took worse than you got! |

I guess it is better to be safe than sorry. The IS350's rear quarter panel is smashed along with the wheel being pushed it. It is not drivable at all. She spun, hit the curb and jumped it, into a 180. |

Whell if the airbags came out thats about 10k then figure another 10k in the front end thats only about 20-25k in repairs and thats not anywhere near 75% damage to get that totaled. =( i hope it is but it doesnt look that way

I wonder if the front part of the frame is damaged. I can't really tell.

That's not how you do it. You tell her to get on her knees and take off your pants.
That really sucks man. I can't stand the fact that no matter how carefully you take care of your car some idiot can come out of nowhere and ruin it. I have a belief that if someone hits you due to their own stupidity and causes a massive amount of damage they should have to buy you a brand new car.

its god that you’re ok,
but far from totaled, from my point of view anyway if the insurance concludes that it is totaled would you now by any chance how much they will sale the car in this condition

If it is not totaled, then I hope the frame is not bent or weakened from the stress of the impact. |

The car doesn't look totaled, and airbags are NOT 10k.
The frame most likely is swung over, but a fews tugs and pulls will whip it right back into shape. Working at a collision center, you guys would be amazed at what can be repaired. The only way they would total it was if they got some good salvage bids on it. Glad you came out of it ok though. It sucks having your car wrecked and you don't want it back, but if every insurance company totaled stuff like this, look what out premiums would be like. I would get all you can from them though. Good luck, keep us posted
